I'm not a big fan of modern country music at all, but I do like a lot of the older stuff. Pretty much anything Dolly did before 1975 is gold (when she crossed over, her music took a huge dive in quality). She is without a doubt one of the best American female lyricists. This song is so vivid in it's imagery, like a lot of her earlier material was. A country classic, peaked at #1 on the country charts, and hit #60 on the pop charts.
Thankfully, she's returned to her bluegrass roots on her past couple of albums. And her writing is still just as good as ever. I've seen The White Stripes perform this song live a couple of times. Jack White doesn't change the lyrics, and it's quite funny to hear.

I love this song.
Her image may be corny but she's one hell of a songwriter.

I like it. Her early material is great. Her later material reeks.
