Agreed. It sounds awful on the radio outside of mixshows. The runaway iTunes success (#3?) is especially bewildering.

I don't like the Crookers mix. Those sirens over the chorus are intolerable. The real version is much better and catchier too. Complete opposite for me now. The Crookers mix adds such much needed energy to this.

When the radio plays this, they up the tempo a lil' to get it on and off the air, it's what the original version needs, IMO

26 24 KID CUDI Day N Nite FG/Universal Motown 2008 2800 2455 345
This has been stuck in the 20's FOREVER...like I said, it will probably explode and wind up going Top 10 in June or July

This is SUCH a slow riser...the bullet is increasing but it's just now entering the Top 20.

Z100 just added the Crookers remix.
In NYC, two Pop stations are playing the Crookers version and two Urban stations are playing the regular version.
I guess that's how it is almost everywhere.

The Crookers mix of this is amazing. Such a jam.

Yea, I was just in the car and felt the need to re-discover the Crookers mix on an old CD I made back in January. I think it's definitely going to be an early summer jam.

How the hell is this a Top 20 Pop hit? I don't hear much Pop appeal; the original edit is a yawn-fest and the remix is pure noise. I simply don't understand this song's success.

Probably because there aren't too many other male artists out there. That's just my opinion.

It's catchy, and falls along the lines of say "Boom Boom Pow".

It's catchy, and falls along the lines of say "Boom Boom Pow". Minimalist production, yes. Lyrical content, no.

That's debatable... I wouldn't exactly say that "Boom Boom Pow" has significance "lyrical content." Flaunting yourself isn't exactly deep or anything, and at least lost relationship + weed is more interesting than the former.
PS. Unless your post meant that "Day N Nite" is better lyrically. Then I agree. It was a little ambiguous, lol.

"Day n Nite" is SO much better lyrically than "Boom Boom Pow."

The lyrical content does not matter. The appeal and presentation of the songs (at least for Pop) are similar.
