Madcon are Norway's premiere rap duo. Their single "Beggin'" spent twelve weeks at number one in their home country at the end of 2007 and beginning of this year. The song heavily samples the Four Season's track; I really like it, if only for that reason. youtube.com/watch?v=7ync5XfNNPo

#4 on iTunes. My favourite review of this track so far: 'A brilliantly done edit of the Frankie Valli & The Four Season's classic "Beggin'" by a man named Pilooski was released last year. Madcon have done nothing but suck out the goodness from Pilooski and Valli's teaming up by removing the original vocal, replacing it with a weaker one, changing the sound of the bassline to a more commercial one, and finally adding unfitting rap lines and unnecessary video game noise to make sure all class and brilliance are annihilated. Mission accomplished.' I have to say that I find the Timebox version the best one, despite it not being the original: www.youtube.com/watch?v=avtEoFvwoLo

This is getting sent to American radio (Pop and Rhythmic) next month!
I love this!
I COULD see it working here, but I don't think it'll have that chance. It was used in Reebok commercials last month though!

I like this. I think it will see Urban success, but it's a bit old-fashioned for Pop.

I actually think this could blow up if it's properly promoted.

I like this. I think it will see Urban success, but it's a bit old-fashioned for Pop. I'd LOVE if it this saw Urban success, but I can't even think of the last time they supported a continental European song. Madcon are from Norway.

This song is kind of all over the place on first listen. I think it's too Urban for Pop, and too Pop for Urban. We'll see.

My Philly station started using the instrumental as background music for the DJ's to talk over, but has yet to play the actual song. I guess it's a good thing overall though. Shows the song is on their radar.

I can see this being huge. Becoming like a "Crazy." Though I can also see it peaking at #31.

This is starting to pull in a few Pop adds and is a minor success at Rhythmic, but it needs to blow up!

This seems to be pulling a "Calabria". It is pulling a good amount of spins out of some markets, while others are dissing it completely.

This would be so hot as a summer smash. It's so old to me now but I still want to experience it as a big US smash.

Now in the iTunes Top 100.
Expect a Hot 100 debut this week since it was already #2 Bubbling Under last week.

I want this to be a US smash because it's not like Norwegian artists ever normally get US smashes... even if it is with a Frankie Valli cover.

Only Norweigan producers get tons of US smashes.... not artists though.

OMG I just listened to this, I heard this on a mixtape mashup on the radio a few weeks ago. I thought this was a Mark Ronson production! HAWT!
