Pop's fifth most added song this week with 11 stations. I'm of two minds here because I want this to absolutely HUGE at CHR, but the realist in me knows that a Top 30 appearance would be superb for this sort of record. For the time being, it's just nice to see the growth being sustained.

I almost hope it DOESN'T become huge...I hate it when pure gems like this go totally unnoticed for months and months, only to somehow catch on bangwagon-style 1 year later.
I bet this will be Top 10 in October, though.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if this is the Christmas #1 on the Pop chart.

Just heard this on the radio at work...it sounds so good. It is NOT a summer song, though. I hope it takes off from late August and remains huge until November...but that might spoil it for me, I love "unknown" diamond in the rough hits like this.

I disagree. I think it's got a great summery sound. "Viva La Vida" wasn't a summer song... with the cheery instrumentation and subtle "whoa, ooohs" this sounds like something you'd blast on your way to the beach.

The SNL episode featuring Kings of Leon as the musical guest is re-running as I speak. Downloads are a bit screwy right now due to the Michael Jackson spike, but hopefully this will help "Use Somebody" on the Hot 100.

This is growing nicely, and it has entered the Top 40.

I expect a +800 bullet soon!

Holy crap, this is BLOWING UP! It's got the biggest bullet below #20. I'm incredibly proud of Pop radio for not overlooking this - now make it a format smash!

MOST ADDED at Pop with 27 new stations! We've got KISSFM/Dallas, the Cumulus chain (including Q100 and KRBE), and WBLI amongst others.
As you can tell from my hijacking of this thread, I'm insanely excited about this. Every now and then, Pop goes out on a limb and makes a truly deserving song a format hit - this is one of those times.

Yeah, this song is amazing. Finally some awesome rock on Pop radio. I can't wait to see this leap over Nickelback and Daughtry on the chart! ;D

That bullet just keeps growing and I'm loving every minute. Top 30 with a nice +607 spin gain.
Now where the HELL is Z100? I know they're not as rock-friendly as they once were, but this is clearly becoming a major hit, and this segment of the genre easily appeals to NYC, much like "Gives You Hell."

Yeah this is the type of rock that NYC and its suburbs actually listen to. Z100 brings in PDs from other parts of the country though, who follow the charts and as a result add Shinedown and crap when it doesn't even fit with the culture of the area though.,..

EVERYONE knows this song now. It really annoys me when people call it "new."

I have a creeping suspicion that a re-release of "Sex on Fire" is going to be the follow up single to this at Pop. I really hope that is not the case.

As much as I LOVE Only By The Night - I think every track is excellent - I'm not sure there are any viable options besides "Sex On Fire" if they want to give Pop radio another go. Actually, I don't even think SOF would achieve much more than a Top 40 appearance, but "Notion" wouldn't fit and all remaining album tracks would stay similarly restricted to Alternative.
On another note, I really want "Use Somebody" to enter iTunes' overall Top 10.

#3 on iTunes I really want this to go to #1 on the Hot 100 now, but it would take some major television promo to reach the heights of BEP.

I don't know what has prompted the sudden surge, but I will take it! Definitely headed Top 10 on the Hot 100. And yes, #1 on iTunes would be BRILLIANT. This is the best song to attain such major mainstream success...maybe all decade. Amazing.
