'Phrazes For The Young' will be released in the UK on October 19. I want something like "My Drive Thru". That song was a jam!

I heard "11th Dimension" on the radio twice today and I''m so conflicted. I love it and hate it at the same time. Ok, what is he doing exactly. I loved "My Drive Thru" also, and I'll have to readjust my standards for this project. It's nothing like that at all fyi. This may just be me (but I don't think it will be): The opening ten seconds of this song sound like old-school Taylor Dayne. It's a little jarring. I never say this with rock songs these days but this might be too dance-y. That said, the song isn't bad. The verses sound dated, but the rest of the song sounds recent, it's fairly catchy and I do for the most part like the song and the direction. But the Taylor Dayne synths are too much. If the rest of the album can avoid the Rick Astley instrumentals it could be good.

I loved The Strokes first two records, and was pleasantly surprised by Little Joy and Albert Hammond Jr, but didn't expect Julian to come out swinging like this. "Out of the Blue" is reminiscent of "Is This It" and should definitely be a future single. I also really love the synthy "Left & Right In The Dark," and "11th Dimension." "4 Chords of The Apocalypse" is stunning, and "Tourist" is simply awesome; I love the trip-hop influence.

His performance on Conan was downright embarrassing...
