That's so alternative of them!

That's so alternative of them! Haha... I'm sure there will be a "de facto" first single anyway. Highly doubt they "won't release any videos" either.

Psyched! They've had so much luck with remixes that I find it hard to believe they won't be releasing them on singles this time around.

Hmm, do they still count as under the radar, even though they are nominated for Grammys?

^ No, I don't think they do. And neither does Vampire Weekend after getting a #1 album.

I agree. I don't know how to classify this section anymore, though. I don't want some threads to get lost among the Mariah and Britney, etc. ones.

This forumwas created for indie music. The type that will not get played on Pop stations ever. Regardless of popularity, MGMT belongs here imo.

Somehow I have a feeling this will be a sophomore slump. I used to really love them, but the only track I can still thoroughly enjoy is "Kids."

The singles on their debut album were flawless. The album... not so much. I'm still looking forward to what they put together.

I hope this is good because something has to make up for their f**king massive egos.

They are not planning to release any singles from the album. So much for that! They have a song going for adds at Alternative radio early next month.

LOL. It's not up to them whether they release any singles or not. I just hope "Flash Delirium" wasn't just chosen because it's the only vaguely radio-friendly length song on the album.

I hope this is good because something has to make up for their f**king massive egos. I haven't really read any interviews with them. I didn't realize they were jackasses. I feel like you have to come with a hot album if you're talking all sorts of smack.

I was just really disappointed by them when I saw them live. Their records are hot as balls, and I will continue to love them, but their live performance was so lackluster. They're always off their tits, and they don't seem to care about anything besides being the hipster wetdreams of millions of girls with headdresses and bicurious skinny boys.

Apparently they're AWFUL live. I had a friend who booked them for a Trinity University show (in San Antonio), and apparently they got completely SLOSHED at a frat house the same day and sounded terrible.

Yeah, they just get really f**ked up and stand there and expect everyone else in the crowd to be too f**ked up to notice they're sh*t.
I really like MGMT, but they're obnoxious useless hipsters making music for obnoxious useless hipsters.

Snoozefest. I was listening to "Love Always Remains" last night and remembered how much I loved the "Time To Pretend" EP. Oracular doesn't hold up as well for me now as it did two years ago.

Not impressed on first listen. But I'll reserve judgment until I hear the studio version.
