I really love the reggaeton remix of this, it's HOT...adds some tempo to it...I highly doubt it, but I would love for them to send that version or a slightly uptempo version to radio... I haven't heard that but I could see this song lending itself well to reggaeton!

It just gives it that tiny little extra OOMPH, IMO...maybe just cuz Im used to the faster version...the original is a tad too slow

^ Wow...you can sing "Call me rude boy, boy" right over that. I just don't think this will be big at all. "Fire Bomb" may not have been a massive digital seller (because it's a ballad), but it would've been a Pop #1 because it's so well-written, and sounds extremely genuine...it also would've been great for her to have a hit song in which she actually had a significant writing credit.
"Te Amo" just kind of plods along...it doesn't have half the oomph Rude Boy had, and I think the Def Jam heads are just capitalizing on a certain sound (in this case, the "island" Rihanna), just like they did with all the "We Belong Together" retreads.

That reggaeton version is great. Immediate add to my summer playlist.

I love the Reggaeton version. The original is great, but that could be what the song needs to really break out.
I don't get the "Fire Bomb" love at all. It's another bland ballad from her - far closer to being an "Unfaithful"/"Take a Bow" retread than "Te Amo."

I think their testing the island influence to see if her next album should be in the direction. This way they can see if people really want this feel from her, or if "Rude Boy" is a one off.

I knew they were going to end up Breakin' Dishes-ing "Fire Bomb." She usually has one of those obvious single choices each album that they choose to skip over. I love the song. The lyrics are amazing.
As for this song, there's no way it's going to flop. It might not be a monster like "Rude Boy," but it's definitely going to the Top 10 at Top 40, Rhythmic and the Hot 100.

That's the reggaeton remix? They should be sending that, not the original.

i just listened to the remix, and I still don't hear it. I don't think this is that catchy or good quality wise.

Yeah it doesn't sound like full on reggaeton. It's just kind of an extra accent.

Well, Clear Channel does tend to speed songs up some, so this could still be sped up a bit as well. I like both versions, and don't be surprised if some stations play the reggaeton mix.

Is the reggaeton version even official or just fan made or DJ-made?

According to American Idol's website, she's now performing "ROCKSTAR 101" tomorrow night. LMFAO. They literally change the single every day.

This is a horrible single choice. I mean ugh. Rockstar is hot....but why isnt she performing Rude Boy? thats her current single in the US.

I agree...she should be performing Rude Boy...it`s the current reigning Number 1 single in the US and its too early to promote the new single

I think it's a good idea. She won't be back in the US until June or July. And "Rude Boy" has already gone to #1 on the Hot 100 and in airplay, so they'd probably rather get a head start on a new single.

Yeah there is no reason to perfrom "Rude Boy" I don't think it's going anywhere for the time being. I hope "Rockstar" is the single and not this.

That's what happens when you have LA Reid, a strong female personality, and very few obvious singles. ROCKSTAR101 is not one of them. Ridiculous. And I remember when he wanted her to release "Stupid In Love" instead of "Rude Boy." "Fire Bomb" will be the "Breakin' Dishes"/"Migrate" of this record.

WTF is wrong with LA Reid? He has really fallen off... maybe he needs to consider stepping back or scaling down his current role in terms of decision-making.

Rude Boy is still climbing there is no reason to perform a new song that wont even be sent for adds for at least 2months from now. Why perform a new song at a high profile show that will spark downloads for a song that really wont even benefit from it and will end up hurting the downloads and the peak on the hot 100 in the long run. Not smart. They need to focus on making Rude Boy as big as it can be and make it her biggest record in the US.

I think that the content in "Firebomb" is so reminiscent of the Chris Brown incident that they are purposely avoiding it to not bring up bad press. "Te Amo" is a midtempo and could be a hit, but I would definitely prefer the variation in sound that is with "Firebomb".

This is a pretty good single choice. I see it performing similar to "Hard" on Pop. "Rockstar 101" would be the biggest flop of the era.
