This is way better than any of his other ballad-esque songs.

Jason Derulo romances “Gossip Girl” actress Tika Sumpter in the video for “It Girl,” the second single from his sophomore album Future History (Sept. 27). The vintage visuals, directed by Colin Tilley, feature black-and-white shots of the on (and rumored off) screen couple getting cozy, along with solo scenes of Jason dancing on the beach.
“For the video, I wanted it to be an open book,” the 21-year-old singer told MTV News. “I wanted it to be almost like a photo album, so every single scene is kind of like a picture that you’re kind of looking into our relationship. So it is a 1920s vibe, it’s black and white, very high fashion—you know, you’ll see me very dapper in 1920s, Frank Sinatra-ish.”

This is better than anything he's released besides "In My Head" - not saying much, but this IS good. The second half of the chorus is so hot. Hope this makes Top 10.

This song makes me cringe with its over the top sappiness, but I wouldn't mind it doing well so "Breathing" can hopefully get released.

This still sounds like it came from a shelved boyband album to me, but for some reason it's refreshing to hear it. The song itself is nothing special. Jason DeRulo has a working formula and I don't see him changing it up anytime soon.

I love the line about "more than a Grammy award, that's what you mean to me." Like...that's good to hear, because you're never gonna get one. LOL
Anyway, this is falling apart just as it hits the Top 20. Kind of a shame, but there are better songs ahead so it's no huge loss. His days are definitely numbered if this can't hit.

Does he even have a Grammy nomination?

No, and the only awards he has so far are a Teen Choice Award and two BMIs.

It's been steadily climbing and airplay is filling in. I can see it getting stuck like "Don't Wanna Go Home" though.

I'm hearing IYAZ "Pretty Girls" much more on the radio than "It Girl". Personally, I think "Pretty Girls" is a better song and would've preferred it become a hit over this crap.

I'm sorry, I can't stop laughing at that Grammy line. It's like the other songwriters played a joke on him or something. One of the funniest musical moments of the year.
