wm.allaccess.com/allaccess/jayzblue.wmaThis is supposed to be the first single off his new album according to Rap-Up.com, and is produced by Pharrell Williams. I hope it's great! Even though I haven't been impressed by a Pharrell Williams production lately.

That doesn't sound like a smash to me. He'll probably get a lot of airplay out of the gate and a lot of airplay in NYC... but it doesn't sound like a song that will be able to top the charts or stick around for more than a month or two.

This will probably explode into the Top 10, and then drop like a brick. Hopefully he has a better plan for single #2 this time.

I'm tired of Jay and Pharrell. Work with somebody new.

I'm tired of Jay and Pharrell. Work with somebody new. "Excuse Me Miss' and "Change Clothes" are boring as hell to me now... yep. I can't see Pharrell putting out a "Rakin sounding" song though. That's what's making me curious a little.

I can definitely see that. He'll do one of his sparse drum-based tracks.

I expected something different for the production. I like it, but i'm not crazy about it. I actually think this is boring.

I can definitely see that. He'll do one of his sparse drum-based tracks. Yep yep. lol This is hot, but it's not like groundbreaking or amazing or anything. It definitely doesn't make me excited for this project.

This is hot as hell. It sounds VERY New York rap and it definitely sounds throwback. I think it's going to do better than "Show Me What You Got."
Whoa @ it sampling En Vogue lol

Ehh This didn't do anything for me. Maybe it'll grow but it doesn't sound like a hit at all

I'm over this already. He's done this song a million times, and he usually doesn't end up releasing it because he has better material to release.

Yeah it's not a song I'll be listening to on repeat on my own time... but it'll be a hot song to hear on the radio this Fall because it has that throwback Jay-Z feel to it. It's a hot song but it's not amazing. It's not going to return him to his commercial hey day.

This is okay.
It's one of those things where if I heard it I wouldn't turn it off but I wouldn't actively go out of my way to listen to it.

I think people are going to be very split on this song. There's probably going to be a bunch of people who love this because it's not an obvious attempt at being commercial. I don't think it's a particularly successful attempt at being alternative and street either though. I'm really holding out hope that he has a great follow-up single this time.

I'm really holding out hope that he has a great follow-up single this time. If not he'll just be like "it's a soundtrack and not a real one of my albums" and "the songs have to tie in with the movie" blah blah

I heard this no fewer than 3 times on Hot 97 in the past half hour.
It sounds hot on the radio but like.. NYC plays this type of rap. I just can't see this mixing in with stations that play more like Birdman and Lil Wayne type rap.
The beat is soooo simple. I know that's what they're going for, but even still, it really needs another layer or some more bass.
and I still can't get over Pharell singing "Hold On" on the hook.

Then they played the "I Get Money" remix with Diddy did it and Jay-Z... and now "Blue Magic" is on again with Funkmaster Flex singing over the second verse. he knows the words already!

I don't think this is going to be an official single.... and if it is, its probably a single from a mixtape depending how well it does.
