For their third single they were deciding between this and “Sophomore Slump or Comeback or the Year”. I definitely would’ve picked the latter but a VJ from Fuse asked Pete about the next single/video, and he confirmed it was going to be for this track.

Will alternative radio overlook the poppy sound of this and still play it? I personally have the lowest expecations for this on the format. On Pop, its a whole different story.

I like this, but I'm not thrilled with the choice. Every song on the album is catchy, but this isn't one of the better songs. I was really hoping they'd stick with "Sophomore Slump". "7 Minutes In Heaven" wouldn't have bothered me either. That was my third favorite from the start although "Sophomore Slump" may have replaced it after it was announced as the probable third single. I wouldn't be shocked if this flops. I think if you're going to release something with a title too long for most listeners to even remember, it had better be amazing.

This is just okay. It certainly wouldn't have been my choice for the third single. "Of All The Gin Joints In All The World", "7 Minutes In Heaven" or even "Sophomore Slump..." would have been better choices. Of those three, I would have preferred "Of All The Gin Joints..."

Fall Out Boy wants their fans to be a part of the next video! It will be shot in Los Angeles at night from 6p to 6a on Sunday February 12th and Monday February 13th. After releasing "Dance Dance" as the second single off From Under The Cork Tree, the tune Fall Out Boy have chosen as their next radio smash has a much, much wordier title. Bassist Pete Wentz tells MTV.com that the Chicago band is hard at work on a video for "A Little Less Sixteen Candles, A Little More 'Touch Me,'" which was inspired by the career of '80s teen movie queen Molly Ringwald. Wentz says, "The song title references Molly Ringwald and Samantha Fox's [1986] album Touch Me, and the song itself is kind of about that. It's a make-out song, so the video's going to be the same thing. But really cinematic too." The video was helmed by Alan Ferguson, who directed the clip for "Dance Dance" as well.

Fall Out Boy will also be re-issuing their smash album just in time for their spring headlining tour. From Under The Cork Tree: Limited Black Clouds And Underdogs Edition will be released on March 14 and feature three bonus tracks, a pair of remixes and new cover art.

The band also still hopes to work with R&B producer Babyface on the next record. Wentz says FOB already has 15 new songs written and that, "We want to work with him. We're figuring out what his availability is gonna be, but hopefully he'll be on it."

I wish they wouldn't re-release the album especially since they're currently working on the next one which is due late this year / early next year. They could just add those bonus tracks to the new LP but it's looking like one of them will be the 4th single.

I think it would be kinda dumb if they release one of those bonus tracks as a fourth single. The rest of the album is already solid enough with many potential singles. Shakira is doing something like this for a reason. But their new album is coming out soon, so a 4th single might not happen.

and I still find it weird that they want to work with Babyface on the new album.

I agree, they have plenty of songs on the album they can choose for a 4th single rather than just picking one of the bonus tracks, which is why the idea of a re-release doesn't make much sense. I think the album is still selling fairly decently last I checked.

As for the idea of Babyface producing for them, I had a WTF reaction to that too when I first heard about it LOL.

Pop-punk act Fall Out Boy has a knack for mixing polished hooks, hyperactive guitars and clever pop culture references. Here, the hilarious throwback title, a tribute to teen movie "Sixteen Candles" and Samantha Fox's 1986 make-out hit, is more exciting than the song itself. Calling all teenagers suffering from an unattainable crush, this emo-ish relationship drama does little to update the uptempo-breakdown-uptempo formula, but it certainly honors it. The quartet rips angsty, I'm-so-messed-up confessions into catchy riffs and a melodic chorus that soars despite its déjà vu feel. However, top 40 radio is a long shot this time; "A Little Less" is not as infectious as "Dance, Dance" and less anthemic than "Sugar, We're Goin' Down." But after two top 10 singles, a multiplatinum album and a Grammy Award nomination, these guys can afford a momentary break from mainstream success. —Sven Philipp

I hate the video. What is it supposed to be? It's like a superhero movie parody or something but I hate those types of movies. I had a feeling they'd base the video on a movie, but I thought Sixteen Candles would lend itself more easily but maybe it was too girly... but that didn't stop them from naming the song after it.

Yeah the video sucks (I like the song though), but I'll give them props for having a plot and not just some boring performance at a pool party with their groupies.

Maybe it's intentional, but this video completely reminds me of 80's Michael Jackson videos.

As for the song, I like it but I'm not crazy about it. I personally like it more than "Sugar.." even though I can admit "Sugar.." is a better song. But "Dance Dance" owns this song in every way possible.

WTF. I'm disagreeing with you again. The album is excellent and this is the worst song out of the 13 tracks.
