So I went back to Georges'. It's not from the album cover. But it's pretty darned close. You probably totally forgot about our conversation. But anyway, I took this picture with the Editors' album cover in mind, and figured I'd post it here. I kinda like the picture too... I might use it for my architecture portfolio.

That shot looks so professional. You took that? Damn. And it does look VERY similar to the Editors cover.

Yep, I took it. I kinda do the whole photography thing for a living, I was surprised at how many different areas around that place looked very similar to that album cover. The archways and halls in those buildings are absolutely breathtaking. Amazing that they built it and ended up hardly using it for any real purpose. Here's another in the same style.

And now that I look at that picture, I totally need to crop it a quarter of an inch off the right. It totally throws off the whole picture.

I wish I could do photography for a living. I've just about had it with my 9 to 5 (correction: 8:30 to 5:30) and I've only been there 3 months (not even!) I love taking pictures, especially when I travel!

Trust me, be glad that you have a job.
9 people out of 10 think I'm a bullsh*t artist with no skills, comparable to any tourist with a point-and-shoot digital camera. They don't realize that to take a good picture and be able to utilize that picture for various applications takes skill, hard work, a ton of practice, and a solid foundation in art, science and math.
There are many days when I wish I had a different major in college. But it's what I love doing, and you gotta go with your gut on these things. So I'll be a starving artist for a while.
Don't give up on your hobby and go outside and take pictures frequently, even when you're not travelling and stuff. You'd be surprised how many cool things exist in your home/apartment, backyard, city, etc.
