This is about to debut at #2 in the UK according to mid-weeks. It reminds me of Natasha Bedingfield but with a more alt-R&B sound. It's catchy. The only thing that bothers me is her voice.

The song is great, but her vocals are less than amazing.

Leeds lass Corinne Bailey Rae is one of the most hotly tipped artists for a long time. Her introductory single Like A Star didn't make a huge impression when it was released last October, reaching number 34 on first week sales of 3,114 but follow-up Put Your Records On explodes onto the list at number two this week, on sales of 26,271. Bailey Rae's self-titled debut album is out today (27th), having won massive critical acclaim and is expected to make a similarly large splash.

Well, I haven't heard "Like A Star." But when I first heard "Put Your Records On," I immediately thought of Nelly Furtado. At any rate, I do like the song. It's pretty catchy.

All right. I just decided that I'm going to get the album. I just dug up a couple of old recordings... You guys should definitely check out "Your Love Is Mine" from 2003. It's an awesome mellow jazzy record officially billed to New Mastersounds featuring Corinne Bailey Rae. It appears on the New Mastersounds' CD Be Yourself. There's also "Young and Foolish" from Stix's 2005 CD Better Luck Next Time. This tune is not quite as good IMO, but it's really interesting lyrically (I don't know whether or not she wrote the lyrics, though). I haven't heard her album yet, but she actually seems to be pretty creative and talented. (I'm sure this means that she'll fail miserably in the US.) www.youtube.com/?v=LpMTQ0BPjHs

I've been trying to force myself to get into this just because of how well it's doing in the UK. I like it, but I honestly don't see the fuss. I think she's a little overrated going by how the BBC DJ's hype her up constantly. This is a nice song, but on repeated listens her voice agitates me.
It's going for AAA adds in the US soon. lol I mean, of all the formats?

This sounds like something that belongs in a commercial. Not much of a fan.

This song really irritates me! I can listen to it until the chorus, then I have to change the station.

The album is AMAZING! I thought I didn't like her, but the record is great. She's like Joss but with a more laid back delivery.

I like the song. But the critics are over-loving this.
