At first glance I was like "aww... I thought they would have scanned more than 291k by now" but thinking about it, it's a dead market and they've had no hits or mass exposure. That's really good.

The fact that the album is even in the top 100 is amazing to me. I'm really surprised it's sold that much, pretty much all on good buzz and hype.

42. (RE)(77) ELECTRIC FEEL (MGMT) 7 wks
60. (RE)(106) TIME TO PRETEND (MGMT)

I'm so glad for them. I'd love to see them keep the momentum going with their follow-up single, but I don't think anything on the album will do as well as on radio as "Electric Feel" or "The Kids."
I just hope they milk they do a lot of promo with this single to really get their name out there. That will make it that much easier to launch their follow-up project.

Okay, I'm ready for some new music from them. They're in Malibu working on a new album that may be out in January. It is tentatively titled Congratulations and supposedly has more of a rock-blues sound than electropop. Here's a recent article (It's in French): LINKI'll be happy if they can pull off a new sound because electropop is kind of dying IMO and it would be great if they could avoid becoming part of a passing fad.

I'm cool with them working with a new sound and straying away from electropop, but I;d be disappointed if they abandoned it completely on the next album.

They're going to appear on a song on Jay-Z's new album. Can't wait!
