Not to be too dramatic, but all these rappers is just further signaling to me that Mariah's going back to the ways of her flop period. Too many rappers, too much rehash..

When I read Seanblain's original post, I thought it was a joke. But now you're telling me that this is for real???
* Buries head in hands *
How many sub-par rappers can you pack onto a single song?

Well, let's not get too panicky...... this is only a remix........ i don't mind having bone thugs.... because as a remix to a slow jam, they have that more mellow sound to them...... i'm pretty sure bow wow just happened to be in the studio since he's another one of JD's creations, so he probably came cheap.. but yeah, sad that JD produced this.......... that's my biggest complaint so far...... let' s just wait and see....

I'm just saying, and I know someone is going to say I'm being too dramatic, but everything from this re-release is reeking of her artistic strategies in the first part of this decade and it's bothering me because I can tell it's not changing anytime soon. It doesn't give me much hope for the follow-up album and it disappoints me to know that I stood behind her so much and everyone supported her earlier this year and she's basically taking it for granted and using it to start pushing random crap again.
...and Bone Thugs are way overrated by Mariah fans. Their last hit was around the same time the "I Still Believe" remix came out. Other than that, they really only had a few hits in their entire career.

I agree with Orange Clouds. She's almost acting like her comeback is a fluke and that she can use her new popular status as a way to push the songs she likes to radio, and we all know the songs she likes are more like "Shake It Off" and "Makin' It Last All Night" and less like "Stay the Night."

I almost feel as though they belong in this song since so much of her phrasing is really reminiscent of Bone Thugs' signature style.

To be honest, I don't even believe that Mariah thinks that "Makin' It Last All Night" or "Boy (I Need You)" are great songs. I just think she can be very lazy with her vocals and songwriting. When she started releasing crap music before (#1s/ Rainbow/ Glitter eras). I kind of felt that she did it because she thought anything she touched would go platinum. Now I think she has the same mentality. I just can't convince myself that the same woman who wrote "My All" or "Can't Let Go" is now satisfied with songs like "So Lonely" or "MILAN"

I agree. She puts out great songs when she needs them. As soon as she's back on top, she gets lazy again. It's bad work ethic.

Woohooo! The DFAU was horrilbe lmao. Yeah, I was really surprised that she got a standing O. (Actually I was surprised she got applause)... But once she gets more comfortable with the song, I'll anticipate better performances.

Mariah got standing ovations during Charmbracelet. lol Other celebrities have a lot of respect for her because most of the people in those audiences have only been in the business half of what she has, if that. There are girls having huge hits now that grew up listening to Mariah as little girls as scary as that is.

She needed a song to be huge for Charmbracelet, but there was none. She took some extra time to come up with Daydream after Music Box )and Merry Christmas was mostly covers) which helped, Butterfly was just a rush of emotion for her, and she took extra time inbetween albums before TEOM came out. I think the issue is time. If she can write a volume of songs, like she did for this, a few of them are bound to stand out.

You know I think we are jumping to conclusions rather quickly. So Lonely started out as a Twista track and made it on the re-release, DFAU and MILAN sound like extra JD songs made way back that they tacked on top the re-release. Notice that the first 4 singles are solo singles with urban remixes. I think she may just start doing solo songs as singles for the most part , and release urban remixes later. I refuse to believe Benny Medina and L.A. Reid would allow her to competely destroy her career with stupid moves like being hip hop hook biatch again. I do agree she can be rather lazy vocally and lyrically at times. I won't judge her stance for the next album until we hear it.

yeah, there's probly a reason why Makin It Last is a "bonus track." There mite've been others like it had it not been for the WBT Remix and the hotsh*t that is So Lonely.

and they didn't use any of the r.kelly stuff....... i know it was because they just didn't mesh or whatever....... but, at least mariah, and maybe even her staff, know to not just take whatever they make and go with it, just because it's what's hot.......... that, and r.kelly's legal ish probably didn't help.......

You know what... i just saw the acceptance speech for her award....... i think mariah realized that damn that sounded horrible..... but, it really is difficult to hear your notes when your earpiece is off.........it could be excuses, but, hey, she owned up to sounding like crap, and she said she tried her best.......... i'm glad she blamed her earpiece than like, a voice box infection or acid reflux or something........
