Unbelievable. The haf time show benefited LMFAO more than it did her

Interchangeable? They're both boybands, sure. But the songs sound completely different. Agreed. One Direction = teen pop The Wanted = typical pop music that happens to be from a boyband

#10 on iTunes and added at KIIS.
Token Pop hit from the album I guess. This is a little on the corny side.

I agree with many of you. Radio supporting this sends a completely wrong message. Radio stations should be just as accountable as Rihanna and Chris themselves if they decide to play this.

This is huge in Canada and topped the Canadian Hot 100 for multiple weeks. (One of the few non-US hits I can remember topping it for that matter). Looks like that's about to change anyway. This is #30 on US iTunes already.
This is kind of blah to me.

What exactly is the difference? The lyrics. Look up some of what's said on "Birthday Cake"

Adam or anyone, can you recommend a remix for this song? There's soooo many good ones. None of them that stand out to me among the others though. I just type in the sing title with remix on Hype Machine and let them all play.

These radio stations should not be enabling.
The Dixie Chicks get banned for criticizing the President but these domestic abuse glorifying idiots get played? What is WRONG with this country? Ughhhh.

I'm not interested if it sounds hot or not. I just hope radio doesn't play it. Impressionable children should not be told by mass media that domestic violence is a joke or something to get rewarded for.

You mean to say that cover is popular on the radio? It was really big on iTunes a couple of weeks back. The cover group also performed it on a few talk shows recently.

I hope their careers both crumble. They don't deserve anything that they have... except for each other.

Yea he's the type of artist that people are neither for or against so it really just comes down to having a hot song or not.

Shocked it's doing so well at Urban because the song is nothing special and Monica's singles have been flopping. I won't even touch on Brandy's recent track record. Guess the hype is working for them afterall.

Yea I thought that was so boring when I first heard it. It's definitely growing on me.
They really didn't showcase this well at the Grammys at all- lost opportunity.
If the video is great, that can save this. It's still good that a Coldplay song that isn't a lead single is in the Pop Top 30.

That cover's very popular as well. Personally I don't think it holds a candle to the original. I also wonder how they received the permission to record and release the song when the original version written by the original artist is still in its own chart run.
This song is now #1 at Alternative!

I'm obsessed with this. I hope it can become a hit on Hot AC and then cross over to pop. After "Rolling in the Deep" and "Pumped Up Kicks" smashed, I think anything is possible. I thought this would be able to go to #1 at Pop and the Hot 100. The only problem is that they're delaying the Pop adds date by so much that this will be so old to the public by the time that it peaks.

Alicia is underrated as a vocalist. Just listen to the second verse on "Lesson Learned." Damnnn! Your latter point is certainly open to interpretation, but "carrying the vocal torch" doesn't only mean being the best vocalist. It also means being the most visible representative(s) for true vocal ability to mainstream audiences. If no one's actually hearing your vocal prowess - meaning, if no one's buying your albums or hearing you on the radio - then how can you possibly be "carrying the torch?" Yes. Exactly. LOL.
