KIIS is playing out this up the wazoo! So bizarre. I love it! Yea! I get KIIS in my car now since it's on Sirius XM and it's ALWAYS on. I've already heard it a few times on Z100 this week too. A contender for unlikeliest Pop hit of the year.

I think the sung part is a sample of an old song but I'm not sure what.

A recent Top 10 at HAC. I heard this for the first time yesterday. I hate country crossovers and I'm not a Kelly fan, but I;d take this ANY day over "If I Die Young."

Their latest is now Top 20 at Hot AC. I've yet to hear it on the radio.

I don't find her original at all but she has a better commercial eye than Lady Gaga. But I also think that's because she's under closer label control than Gaga is.

I'll be honest. EVEYTHING about this little girl annoys the crap out of me. I had to watch some Nick Jr show when I was watching my old 8 year-old cousin last week and Selena was one of the guests. She is SO annoying. Keep her AND her publicity-op boyfriend the HELL AWAY FROM MY RADIO AND TV PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This came on in the car with my Mom yesterday and she asked if this was Michael Buble. I didn't hear it before, but it really sounds like a more upbeat/young-ish Buble song.

This song sound purposely intended to make a "we don't care about airplay" statement but it's proving to be a bit ironic. This is ALWAYS on Power 105.

Hopefully this will make Avril more relevant so "Wish You Were Here" can smash! ! her album is too mellow to smash though. The biggest selling album of the year is ULTRA mellow. The thing is Avril makes mellow material but with teenage brattiness in some songs still (definitely the two singles). Her marketing campaign targets the same age group that her debut album did. Her fans from then probably border from finishing college to young professionals working now. But instead of adapting to that, it seems the push is still towards high school student who can't relate to a 20-something Hollywood socialite dating Brody Jenner pretending to be a skater girl still. It just seems like a messy and dated targeting strategy.

This is recovering decently now. It's not the instant smash you'd expect from a Beyonce single that pre-leads a new album, but it's growing small but steady on the three formats and is now Top 20 on the Hot 100.
Chart run is kind of like "Halo."

Her voice id pretty inoffensive too. I also stand by that that these five singles are easily distinguishable, which makes her songs less annoying. I agree that the five songs all sound pretty different. I'm not saying "Firework" or "ET" would have flopped either. I just don't think they would have been AS huge had they not been from radio's current 'golden girl." For instance, if Katy sang 'Edge of Glory' and Gaga sang 'Firework," I bet EOG would have had the #1 peak and "F" the #3 peak.

I stated it earlier in this board, I don't mind her, but it pisses me off that radio is jumping at her songs like they are. They are soooooo average. There is nothing fresh, new, or exciting about her music. I don't mind her getting a hit, but #1 after #1 after #1... it's appalling. That's how I feel too. I wouldn't care if she got a string of Top 10 or even Top 5 hits but automatic #1 after the next is too much. The first two singles were great Pop records but I doubt the 3rd, 4th, or 5th would have been AS big as they are had they not been following the first two.

I don't blame her personally. I blame radio's repetitive tactics. If I'm taking a 2 hour drive and I'm flipping through stations, I might enjoy listening to this song once during that time. I don't need to hear it ten, twelve times on different station and sometime as many as three times om the same station in that three hour period.

I'm so over her. I'm not someone that dislikes her by any means, but it just feels like she's been shoved down our throats in excessive amounts for way too long now.

I don;t get all the love for this song. It sounds different yeah, but mostly because songs that sound like they're performed in Royal Caribbean or Carnival cruise ship cabarets don't make it on to commercial artists' albums.

Up to #65 on the Hot 100. Likely its peak unless new promo kicks in or the video really grabs attention.

MOST ADDED at Alternative with 44 adds. In about 10 days it was added to every station in the format except 1. 69 our of 70. Not sure who the holdout is, but for a format that's all over the place that's something that almost never happens. That's a good point. The format is so polarized now. It's not a format like Pop or Urban or Hot AC where you can say "once a song goes Top 10 all the stations are playing it." It's become more of a collection of multiple sub-formats that are all loosely Alternative. I think RHCP is one of the few bands that can appeal to the active rock spectrum to the indie spectrum to the hippie spectrum and everywhere in between.

"You and I" is the English version of "Kun For Mig" which is her biggest hit to date in Denmark I believe.
