The second dubstep #1 in the UK. I didn't like this much at first but it's grown on me a little. It's better than their last single "Guilt", but nowhere near as good as "Me & You" which did comparatively poorly at #13 on the chart in January but has been a club staple ever since and felt much bigger, at least to me.

I hope this is better than "Teardrop". I've lost all my hype for new material for them.

This is alright. I thought it came out here MONTHS ago and flopped, but obviously i was wrong.

I've liked all four of her singles. The same things that make this annoying make it catchy. Releasing a video where people trash a school the same week there are riots all over the country is stupid though.

Not a fan, but a good choice.

I like it! Smashing because of the whistling, of course!

Love it. I can see why she'd be annoying to some people, but I've found her run of singles very solid and entertaining.

Yeah, this is alright. I agree that the whistling makes it catchier. I'm going to start get sick of whistling if it's a trend though.

I like it. More than I liked "Take Back The City".

Thinking about it, it seems completely bizarre she had a #1 smash as recently as four years ago.

The worst thing about her on X-Factor was that she got so much praise for the stupidest things. She never got praise for her singing or even much for her rapping, it was that she was choosing the right songs, doing mash-ups and adding these raps, when she didn't even choose the songs, didn't arrange the mash-ups and didn't write the raps. As far as the verses, I think they're pretty standard filler electro pop. The chorus is horrible because of the sample. Yeah I never watched XFactor but even I heard of her because every British 20-something was talking about her at somepoint. Then when this song leaked a month or two ago, I saw so many status updates about how awful this song is and how she's a flop. Well I guess not I still haven't heard the song myself. Forums, real life people, even music news outlets, Twitter, whatever. Even Cher "stans" (don't even get me started on how you can be a fan of an artist before they've released music) think there were better choices. She was always polarising on X-Factor, but there were still SOME people who liked her. The only thing I can think is that it'll plummet next week.

I'm actually SHOCKED this is doing so well. I thought it would get to like #8 or something. I have literally not seen or heard one less than awful reaction to this. In fact I thought I was one of the people who liked it the most because I think the verses are slightly salvagable.

Yeah I definitely think the problem is that she's so easily dateable to almost a decade ago. She's lucky she had "Girlfriend" because I think she'd be struggling to get any attention at all if that hadn't smashed.

The biggest selling album of the year is ULTRA mellow. The thing is Avril makes mellow material but with teenage brattiness in some songs still (definitely the two singles). Her marketing campaign targets the same age group that her debut album did. Her fans from then probably border from finishing college to young professionals working now. But instead of adapting to that, it seems the push is still towards high school student who can't relate to a 20-something Hollywood socialite dating Brody Jenner pretending to be a skater girl still. It just seems like a messy and dated targeting strategy. YES to all of this. They really need to decide who Avril is and who she's aimed at, because they've had no idea since her second album campaign ended. At the moment i feel like they're succeeding with none of the groups who could be interested in her, and they either need to decide on one to focus on or even find a way to appeal to all.

The rest of his material sounds more like Jason Mraz to me than this. I don't even know who I'd compare this to. I guess that's part of the reason I'm unsure about it. Nothing else I've heard from him is quite this obnoxious. The message of the chorus is fine, I'm just surprised they didn't make him tone down the verses. I was expecting something more like "Firefly" with a catchier chorus or a beefed up "Sunburn".

"One Shot" is my favourite too. That's actually a fantastic song. It is one of the ones that missed #1. It got to #6 and "Eyes Wide Shut" with Tinie Tempah got to #8.

I like it, but it seems a little risky. I was expecting his second single to be a more hit-worthy version of "The A Team", but he's rapping about his haters, disses the Brit school and talks about crack? Who thought that was a good idea? The chorus is a Facebook status waiting to happen though, which is always a sign of a hit.

They're fantastic entertainers, but most of their music isn't up to par for me. This is one of their better singles, but I still don't love it. I can't believe this will already be their fifth #1... especially when the ones that I like most and all my friends were REALLY into are the two that didn't even go top five.
