Obviously I haven't heard the remix yet, but this song doesn't scream Pop hit to me. It's a decent choice, and will probably go Top 30 on the strength of HDL alone, but I don't see it really breaking Top 20. That said, I can see this being a smash at AC and Hot AC. It's the type of song that will just click with listeners there.

I'm in the same camp with those that feel she sold out with Hips Don't Lie...
releasing this will redeem a big heap of respect for her..... (from me)

The radio edit has a hard drum beat under the entire song. The chorus has electric guitars and an organ.

I like it...but it's even more Hot AC now. Flop. The new version of Animal City had far more potential as a CHR single.

I take it back...I really like this version after hearing it a couple of times. Yeah, it still has no crossover appeal whatsoever, but the production on the chorus is pretty epic. Then again, it could have something to do with me watching her Reno concert for the first time today...she's just so damn hot. I wish she'd perform this at the VMAs...

Other than releasing a reggaeton remix, I don't see any way to make this an obvious smash. Ballads are always a risk. I think they aided the song to the best of their ability without going reggaeton.

Much more radio-friendly than the album version. It may not blow up, but at least it's not a guarenteed flop now.

This is gonna be a great early Fall type of hit...it was one of the few songs I liked back when the album was originally released last November. I havent listened to it in a while, but I know its gonna be a hit and I will love it
