Obviously there's not a "rule," but it's an example that it's completely and totally possible so there's really no room for excuses. When it comes down to it, anything is possible. I still think having two huge hits at the same time is more impossible than not. If it were otherwise, we'd have many more examples than just Akon. The whole Akon situation is a fluke anyway and kind of different, because the reason he did have two hits at once is directly because his label was unsure which to use a lead single so they leaked both. Different radio stations decided on different songs, and eventually enough stations were playing both that Rhythmic stations were able to place both into rotation. Pop follows the lead of other formats when it comes to Rhythmic hits- it's not like they said "ok let's play two Akon songs." It was more like "these are the Rhythmic songs that are popular at the moment that we have to start playing and they happen to both be by Akon." Nelly is a different case. She's a Pop artist, not a crossover artist, and this is not her lead single. I also don't buy "just featured" on "Give It To Me" because even though that's technically what it's billed as, let's face it. About 70% of the vocals on that song are hers.

My friends and I were talking about this song. We were thinking about the line that says "Traveling, I only stop at exits." And we were asking "Opposed to..."?

I think of that line as like backpacking through Europe or being on a cross country roadtrip in the US and not having a set destination, and just stopping at new places on a whim along the way.

I think it means that whatever she chooses to do in her life, she never stops going for it until she gets there.

I think it's a metaphor for life. She's gonna live her life to the fullest and takes in every single moment because someday she won't be "young and restless" anymore. She only "stop at exits" only when she needs to rest or whatever.

I honestly think it's a poor line. Though, the rest of the song is great, lyrically.

Or could she quite possibly mean with that line that she keeps going until she hit an exit because going through that exit would mean the end and she is not keen for it to be the end quite yet.

But, why only exits? It's seems pretty obvious that you'd only stop at exits.

But, why only exits? It's seems pretty obvious that you'd only stop at exits. I think the "only" actually refers to the next line: wondering if she'll stay. Meaning when she gets off at an exit, she only wonders as opposed to being certain that she'll stay there or certain that she'll move on.

But, why only exits? It's seems pretty obvious that you'd only stop at exits. Well you could stop at rest stops, service stations, etc. But really, I think you're taking the line way too literally. It's metaphorical and you're taking it as driving and how you'd never stop in the middle of the road because there's traffic behind you.. but it's not meant to be taken literally.

Simply in tone. It's often risky to release two slow songs in a row, and I don't think she's enough of a 'name' yet.

I think it's very wise releasing another ballad midtempo considering an up/midtempo club song which heavily features her ("Give It To Me") will be out at the same time.

I really hope they do a new video for this song. The British one is way too low budget to fly here.

I've grown to LOVE the video, too. It's simple, but it matches the mood and vibe of the song IMO. Plus, I can't see Geffen shelling out more money to reshoot the video. The old one will have to do!
