They were a big band in the 80's. This samples "Africa" which was a #1 hit in 1983.

Okay I like this more on second listen, mainly because the part of the sample she used is absolutely perfect for summertime and it has a classic pop sound. This is either going to be a smash for her or absolutely bomb. I can't see this going to like #17 on the pop chart.

I need to hear this in HQ or CD quality but it sounds pretty good to me. I'm feeling the sample, she flipped it good.
What song does the beat sample, is it "Africa"?
I need to hear it in CD quality, but I think this could be a hit for her. Not huge, but at least Top 15.

This song SCREAMS Ashanti. No doubt about that. From the baby baby's to the whisperish You's at the end of the chorus, I almost expected to hear Ja Rule scream "Murrderrrr!" like halfway through the song. Other than that, this is HOT! I like the summerish/Caribbean vibe. |
