I loved "It's Never Been Like That" (especially "Too Young"), but for some reason, I just couldn't get into "United" at all. In my opinion, this is easily the best record they've put out. "1901" seems to be a blog-contender for song of the year already, and "Lisztomania" is my favorite thing they've ever done.

You all seriously need to listen to this right now. If you've heard them before, there new stuff will blow you away. And they're about to blow up...performing 1901 and Lisztomania on SNL on April 4th with Seth Rogen as the host - great exposure. I figured 1901 was the first single since they gave it away free on the official site a month ago and all the blogs went crazy over it and there's a video, but apparently Lisztomania is the first single...and rightfully should be. 1901 is great, but Lisztomania is unbelievably catchy. Come on guys...listen to this and tell me it's not addictive.

Your right, I like this more that 1901! That video is particularly fitting as well.

Like I said on their other topic, I loved their last album. I really like the new single too.

I'm really digging "Armistice" and "Girlfriend," too.

I LOVE "1901." Wow- so good. Reminds me of a Young Love track. I never got into Phoenix before this- I always thought of them as a dance act based on the songs I knew by them ("Everything Is Everything," "If I Ever Know Better," etc) but "1901" is rock at its core!

I'm definitely into this band now. "1901" is a jam and I still can't get "Lisztomania" out of my head.

"Lisztomania" NEEDS to be the second single, like right now!

It's the official first single! 1901 was just a free download on their website (although I think it should be the second single). I don't know why Lisztomania hasn't gone for Alternative adds yet.

HQ download on Amazon. The earlier leak was definitely a demo.
This is incredible. It's the perfect top-down, summer record. I really love "Rome" and "Lasso" now, too.

They're performing right now on It's On With Alexa Chung. Hopefully this will give them some download boosts.

Yeah! That's how they got big. They were the backing band for Air, and Sofia got Thomas on the vocals for Air's "Playground Love" (the big single from the "Virgin Suicides" soundtrack, and one of my favorite songs of all time).
After that came United in 2000, which featured "Too Young" -- it was featured on the "Lost In Translation," soundtrack (2001), another Coppola movie, and that's when they really broke out internationally. It was played during the karaoke scene in the movie.
In the U.S., "If I Ever Feel Better" was also featured on an early episode of Entourage, which sparked some interest.
Of course, they weren't a huge name until this era. For some reason, I can't embed the "Too Young" video.

iTunes has a new "Live from Soho" EP up! The version of "1901" sounds amazing!

Just saw them on MTV, pretty good....can anyone recommend good songs? From their current album "Lisztomania" and "1901" are the best. I also love "Fences" and "Girlfriend." Of their older stuff, I like "Everything Is Everything" and "If I Ever Feel Better."
