Ugh. I wish they waited. Alicia is not a strong downloads artist. If they had the video out for a few weeks, let it grow more at radio, and THEN released it to iTunes, it would have created the biggest impact I think.

If they had the video out for a few weeks, let it grow more at radio, and THEN released it to iTunes, it would have created the biggest impact I think. But this is one of those songs that I think will be an exception. Her singles are usually really "R&B" but this song definitely has the most crossover appeal for a single from her since "Fallin'" IMO.

Yeah, plus I think her VMA performance is really going to help her.

Usually even the biggest female R&B songs don't have strong downloads for a long time.. and this song has a grand total of 4 spins at Pop this week (and I know a month from now many Pop stations will be playing it). I just don't want her downloads to peak way before her airplay does because I want her to have a high Hot 100 peak. By releasing it for sales this early, there's basically no way she can get a Hot 100 #1 now.

This is turning into one of my favorite singles this year. After seeing the live performance, I really get this song.

Down to #58. Not that it's a huge deal... but I've never seen a song by a major artist fall back on its first day before.

NYC must be conditioning us for this. I still haven't heard this on the radio, but within the past week or two I've been hearing old Alicia non-stop.
