It was a song I wrote for this boy I went out with in high school, who meant a lot to me—like my first kissing boyfriend—and he actually died a year ago. [He committed suicide] I haven't known him all of those years, but he was a huge part of my life. He gave me something huge, the experience of loving someone for the first time, even if it's high school. So I wrote this song called "Wonderful Life", which was originally "Wonderful Life For Him", with Linda. The amazing thing about that song was that this guy was the first person to turn me on to Depeche Mode and The Cure. So I got one of his heroes to play on that song.

Still holding out for this to be a single...it'd be perfect for Spring. It'll also garner HAC support, it clocks in at 3 and a half minutes, and it's her best damn solo song...period.

This ranks as one of my favorites from the album. Was this one of the rejected tracks she wrote with Linda for the first album?

I want this as the third single. I heard they might slowly transition this era into the next No Doubt era by promoting this and Early Winter to Alternative radio. They should attempt it. Both songs are basically Depeche Mode and Keane songs with Gwen's vocals. lol So here's hoping this is next! Best Gwen solo song IMO.
