I really have very little interest in their Zooropa and Pop singles, but David Morales did an incredible dance mix of this song. It sounds a lot like the dance mix he'd done of Mariah Carey's "Always Be My Baby" about a year earlier. It went to #1 on both the Alternative charts and the club play charts. It also went to #10 on the Hot 100 despite barely hitting the pop chart.

I guess this song charted so high out of band loyalty then? Or maybe because there was so much hype around the Pop album and PopMart Tour. I never cared for this song, but I guess it's not bad either. I'll have to look for that dance mix.
At least the Pop singles were much better than the Zooropa singles. 'Staring at the Sun' was a decent track, though it's near impossible to listen to it and not hear The Gorillaz - 'Feel Good Inc' since they sample the same song.

I actually liked this song. I remember at the time, I was one of the few that did, LOL. "Staring At The Sun" was a better single though.

It's alright but it isn't one of the songs they stand out for by any stretch. The concept of the video with them in a disco ball was interesting even though it was just your typical performing the song type video.

This has been one of my favorites from U2. I had originally heard the Morales mix before I heard the original. And I loved the original too.
