When I first heard this back in March of 03, I was so amazed; it was like the second coming of Christ for me. I couldn’t wait to buy the album. But since I’ve overplayed this song so much, the male vocals started to get on my nerves. Now I can only listen to the first 40 seconds or so before Paul McCoy starts rapping.

There was a version without Paul McCoy on the single; I could PM it to you if you wish

I think I first heard this in 2002 and thought they were desperately trying to cash in on Linkin Park. It was one of those songs I grew to really like because I was hearing it a hundred times a day.

I agree, but this was much more tolerable than any singles that followed it.

I agree, but this was much more tolerable than any singles that followed it. I disagree. "Going Under" was a much better song, IMO.

I disagree. "Going Under" was a much better song, IMO. Yeah, "Going Under" was a lot better. And as much as I tried to fight it, I found myself loving "My Immortal" at one point too,

I love it, even though I got sick of it for a little while because of overplay. Great piano melody and vocals in this. I can't believe it is already three years old though. It doesn't feel like it's that old. I do think "Going Under" is a better alternative track than this but overall I still love this song a tad more.

I didn't like this at first, because I thought Amy Lee was over-singing so much. It was too dramatic. But eventually, after hearing it 20 times a day in June and July 2003, I grew to like it. Cubby said that she was the female response to Linkin Park before introducing it as the #1 song of 2003.
Incidentally, I can't believe this enters in the nostalgic section. Time has gone by really fast.

I just don't get this group at all. They simply do not appeal to me on any level. The same can be said of this song.
