I'm a fan of their older stuff, and I'm not huge on Futures as an album, but I love this song. This song and "Kill" made the album worth it for me.
I think if they shortened this a little bit (because it clocks in at just over 5 minutes) it would have been a great single off Futures.

I've been planning on buying one of their albums. Which one do you think is their best?

Clarity is my favorite, but all of them are great in their own way.
I was initially disappointed with Futures but there are three or four songs (Kill and TWYL in particular) that I love. And I think Bleed American is fantastic too.
Here are my favorite tracks off of some of their albums. They have a boatload of splits and EP's too. But (IMO) their best material was released on albums.
Jimmy Eat World Truthfully I don't like this album. "Scientific" is ok and "Cars" is alright too. But even if you can find it (because I think they don't even press it anymore) it's not really worth the purchase. It ain't great.
Static Prevails "Call it in the Air", "World is Static", and "Rockstar" are the ones I listen to most from this. It's a great album though. It's good to listen to straight through and although I usually end up skipping some tracks it's worth buying.
Clarity Amazing album. "Lucky Denver Mint", "Goodbye Sky Harbor" (really long but it builds and it's incredible), "A Sunday", and "Your New Aesthetic" are my favorites.
Singles This is like the b-sides album of stuff they collected over the years and wanted to release. It's okay, but if it's your first JEW album don't get this one.
Bleed American (Jimmy Eat Worldafter September 11th) Awesome album. "A Praise Chorus" is one of my top 3 JEW songs of all time. "Sweetness" is probably top 5 too. All of the tracks on this album are great. I got the vinyl version of this album in addition to the CD, and there's a song called "Splash, Turn, Twist" on the vinyl that's great. It's a good song to download.
Futures This album's good but not very consistent. Some of the songs are very strong (IMO) like "Kill" and "The World You Love". "Pain" (the first single) is sort of weak and "Work" (the second single) is a very good song as well.
I dunno, maybe that gives you a place to start. I'd say their sound has progressively gotten cleaner and more electric, so if you're into the more acoustic and less refined, look to the earlier stuff, but if you like the polished, crisp and dare I say more formulaic stuff, look towards Bleed American and Futures.

wow, thats a lot to choose from, but "Clarity" sounds like something I'll like. I've been curious about their music because a lot of these new bands that I like refer to Jimmy Eat World as some of their musical influences. I agree with "Pain" being a weak first single, never really liked that song. It still managed to go to #1 on alternative though.

A year later now. So I guess Bleed American turned out to be my favorite JEW album.

Yeah, Bleed American is the one I listen to the most. At least a few times a week in it's entirety.

So I have to thank sleepytime for bringing up this song. Last year I was scanning through this forum looking for songs to download, came across this one and since I already liked Jimmy Eat World, went ahead and bought it.
Not only is this now my favorite song of theirs, but I'm pretty sure I'd place it in my Top 10 songs of the decade. The lyrics, much like those of their other records, sound like they were written just for me, and the last minute and a half or so (the bridge and final chorus) in particular is just pure awesomeness. Their songs are so relatable and that makes them special for me; this one is no exception.
