This is one of my favorite Carole King singles and my favorite non-Tapestry single. I love this song. Beautiful lyrics and melody and even though she's not the strongest vocalist, her vocals are very effective on this song. It went to #9 on the Hot 100 and #1 AC in early 1975.

Norah Jones's "Nightingale" isn't a cover. I don't think any major artist has ever covered Carole's.

I love this song. I agree that this was her best non-Tapestry single, even though "Jazzman" was her biggest hit. (#2 hot 100) The album those two songs are from, "Wrap Around Joy," was her last #1 album and last major hit as a recording artist. It was good to see her live album do so well this past summer. Norah Jones did cover Carole's "No Easy Way Down" and if you look hard enough you can download it somewhere. I think she recorded it for "Come Away With Me" but it didn't make the final cut.
