I know not many people didn't take this song seriously and only saw it as novelty but I thought it was an effective little pop song for the summer. There's nothing offensive about it in my opinion.
Their album, however, was overrated as hell.

Yeah, i liked this one. It was kind of a guilty pleasure for me. The video was great as well, of course.

I actually prefer their older material. I think they're a great band and their strength lies in catchy choruses, super harmonizing and infectious hooks.
This seemed kind of lame to me. I liked it at the time and I still don't mind it now, but only because of the Cars' sample (that isn't even a sample because it really is the meat and bones of this song). It sucks that they'll be remembered for this song because I think they've made some pretty great tracks in the past (most notably and the one that would probably be recognized the most would be "That thing you do" from the soundtrack of the movie with the same name).

As a side note, there's a song called "Bright Future In Sales" from this album that I quite enjoy as well. Probably more than this song.

I don't remember that song. The album was all country to me, but I should give in another chance when I'm the mood.

I really love Welcome Interstate Managers. "All Kind of Time" is a thing of beauty....if you're a football fan. And I agree, that Bright Future in Sales is just soooo great. I'm a pretty big fan of FOW. Just great pop music. Love Radiation Vibe too. And their cover of "Hit Me Baby One More Time" is great. But I've heard from MB20 fans that the guys were real jerks on tour. I hate to hear that cuz I really enjoy their music.

I'm a big FOW fan. I could read off a dozen FOW songs I love. This is one of them, but it's at the bottom of the list.
Each of their albums has a distinctive sound to it. The first was more Indie-Alt/Pop where they sounded kind of like Pavement and that's why they had some minor hits like "Radiation Vibe" and "Sink To The Bottom". The second is my favorite, but it's kind of hard to compare it to anything since it doesn't fit into any category really. That's why "Denise" didn't do well, but it's probably my favorite single. The third album is uneven. It has the catchy songs ("Stacy's Mom," "Bright Future.." and "Mexian Wine") but then some curve balls like the country song "Hung Up On You" which I really can't stand.

Wasn't this fall 2003? I don't really remember it during the summer.
It's so silly, but I love it. They did a good job with the video too.
