I love it. This should have been the first single.

I was completely shocked that this flopped as bad as it did. It was so catchy.

Great song! I think it flopped because there were tons of songs with huge bullets out at the time. Pop radio just wanted to focus more on the rhythmic tracks. But this is Michelle Branch's catchiest song, at least that she released on any album. Her catchiest song is "Tell You About It," but she never released that, because she's an idiot when it comes to marketing.

remember that Michelle is on her "i hate everything and i'm a bitter b*tch that doesn't like sucking dicks" phase.

I guess she stopped sucking when she released this (and I'm not talking about the music for those who didn't read my opinion).

LOVE this one. It was my favorite song by her on first listen, though I think in the long run my favorite by her is "All you Wanted." Anyway, "Breathe" is so catchy. I really thought it would end up being her biggest hit. It followed up a less radio-friendly lead single that went Top 5 Pop anyway, so i figured this one was in the bag. It also came at a time when Pop was playing Liz Phair, Stacie Orrico, and Jessica Simpson, meaning they were opening up to female solo Pop/Rock artists again. I really don't know what wrong with this, except maybe... I guess she stopped sucking when she released this (and I'm not talking about the music for those who didn't read my opinion).

The only song from her that had any real weight or resonance was "Are You Happy Now." The rest was so BLAND.

"Are You Happy Now?" is the only song by her I really like as well. This is the second best thing she did. Everything thing else, blech.
Everything was working against her with this single though, if I remember correctly, the album was selling terribly. Not to mention Avril had stolen her thunder, and Hotel Paper got horrible reviews.

The album was selling horribly, but Avril had no single out in late 2003 and radio never pays attention to reviews anyway (Fergie anyone? lol) Anyway, I never really got into her but from Hotel Paper I loved this song, "Find Your Way Back," and "Tuesday Morning."

I'm just saying Avril had come out and became the "it" teen-pop rock girl, and kind of made her look irrelevant. A lot of the critics even mentioned Avril in their reviews. And I think a universal crappy critical reception and buzz to a sophomore album can hurt it's sales and radio-play.

I think that "Hotel Paper" is easily her best work. Great material and production, a step up from her debut album. Especially loved the song with Sheryl Crow.

I like both of Michelle's solo albums. I don't love either, but they were both filled with good pop songs. The difference in maturity between the two albums was huge. I'm not a big fan of The Wreckers's album though. It's like a bland pop album with some fiddles and steel guitars thrown in for country cred.

I'm not shocked this flopped, but it's a fantastic song nonetheless.

Im a fan of her work and own both of her albums. I really liked this song as well.
I found her singles, and this song in particular, were feel-good and just had a nice feeling about them.
