What a classic! My favourite UK #1 of all-time! ;D Here's the video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=wjgkNW10SR0Shakespear's Sister were one-half Bananarama (Siobhan Fahey) and one-half long-time session vocalist (Marcella Detroit, aka Marcy Levy. The contrast between their vocals really was magnificent and they produced a lot of great records- this is of course my favourite. It spent 8 weeks at the top of the UK singles chart in early 1992 (a record for an all-female group) and reached #4 on the US Hot 100 later that year. Unfortunately this was the beginning of the end for Shakespear's Sister as Marcella and Siobhan were not on speaking terms during this period and sadly eventually split up with Siobhan admitting herself into a psychiatric unit with severe depression. The video is excellent too, and apparently Siobhan (the evil person in the video) turned up drunk to the video shoot. If you can find the videos, "Hello (Turn Your Radio On)", "I Don't Care" are also fantastic!

Marcella's vocal performance is mindblowing on this song. So emotional. She turns what would have other been a completely maudlin song into a masterpiece.
