I thought the concept of lopping a two-second 80's vocal sample over a repetitive dance beat was lame. I'm glad the whole concept only spawned a couple of worldwide hits and none of them being in the US.

This song may not have been a hit in the US, but there was a stretch when it was impossible to go to a college party without hearing it.

The video made the success of the song. But I liked it.

Please, not in record review already, lol...
You STILL can't go to a college party without hearing this. We even play it all the time in the coffee house on campus where I work.
And finally, studying abroad in Italy last year when it was massive...hearing it every time I went clubbing...watching the video on MTV Europe constantly...it holds a special place in the heart, even if it's the same thing over and over for two minutes and fifty-one seconds. (And that's just the radio edit).

A guilty pleasure. At first I thought it was ridiculous but then it just became undeniable.
Oh and I love the video. lol

I sorta liked this when it came out, but then it was grossly overplayed.
I loved the video! Very sex.

I still love this song. It's very nostalgic.

This song may not have been a hit in the US, but there was a stretch when it was impossible to go to a college party without hearing it. Which just goes to show that radio stations in the US suck completely. Not every single person in the country likes hip-hop/rap/R&B. The US charts are nothing but a complete and utter joke. It really is a simple concept, but it works. And just like everything else, there are good 80s-looped-vocals and there are bad ones.

Like I said before, I hear this every time I go out. If Z100 played this (and they should have), this song would have been a massive hit in the US market. Pop radio lost out on this one completely.

This is clearly sh*t, but it brings back loads of memories now, so I like it.
