I'd say there's a point. It won't blow up or anything, but her album is selling well, its already a video hit, its doing decent digitally, and Pop is opening up to adult songs. Like I said, more likely than not it'll flop... but it's worth the shot.

Someone have to sing this on American Idol! LOL. I was thinking earlier that it was too bad that it isn't AI season because they could def. incorporate this into the show & it would blow up.

Good Lawd this song is old. Yeah, they're definately trying to use the Grammy's to sell her.

I really don't see the Grammys helping her out like they did Norah (who seems to be the closest comparison), certainly not at pop.

I love this song. Too bad the record company missed promoting this gem. Although, should she win some Grammy's and this just might a get new life - remember when Bonnie Riatt won all her Grammy's...........

They're sending this to Urban AC too, as the follow-up to "Like A Star". I have to give them credit for persistence.

The album is now #1 on iTunes and this is all the way back up at #42 after falling off the chart.

I'm really bothered that "Like A Star" already peaked on the Hot 100 this week. It sucks that they didn't let this one re-enter. Isn't it a current single at AC radio? And it would definitely be Top 50 if it was allowed to chart.
I should e-mail Fred Bronson about this.

I e-mailed Fred to ask him about her Hot 100 situation. I didn't get a response. I guess he had no real defense. I even tried to type corny like he does and suck up to Billboard but it didn't work lol. I don't even care too much about this song but I HATE it when the Hot 100 gives misleading chart histories to artists.
Anyway, this is my unanswered email to him:

Yeah, the new rule is really dumb. It basically punishes slow burners. In the end though, "Put Your Records On" will go down as a Top 10 AC and Hot AC hit, and "Like A Star" is just going to have it's Hot 100 peak and a peak at the bottom of the R&B chart.

I also have to blame her label for not sending a blunt message to Billboard that they're still promoting this. They should have sent it for adds this week at Pop even though it wouldn't do well here. They should have just rushed proof of it being current to Billboard the second they saw the downloads soar after Oprah and the Grammy's. A wise label would have seen the opportunity to raise the song's chart profile from a mile away.
