The first single from Kenny's forthcoming album, "Lucky Old Sun," and the first for his own label Blue Chair, is perfect summer fare. Once again, he's back with the cool breezy calypso/Buffet kind of style that he has perfected, really making it his own at this point. And with just about all Kenny Chesney singles, there's nothing not to like here. Clocking in at under 3-minutes "Everybody Wants To Go To Heaven," once again shows why he's the master of the format right now. Blasting from backyards all over America starting August 10th.
'GOD' AND 'HEAVEN': Kenny Chesney has the second-highest debuting title of his career on Hot Country Songs, where "Everybody Wants to Go to Heaven" (Blue Chair/BNA) opens at No. 22. Of Chesney's 56 chart entries, only "Don't Blink" has had a bigger opening, crashing on to the survey at No. 16 in September 2007.
"Everybody Wants to Go to Heaven" is the second highest-debuting song of 2008 on the country tally. The only song to hit a higher first-week mark was George Strait's "I Saw God Today," which entered at No. 19 in February.
