Hopefully it won't be as annoying as "Ain't No Other Man", the album was actually pretty good (well the first CD).

She basically released all the wrong singles the last era. "Slow Down Baby" and "Understand" should've been released second and third. I want a hot song released first this time around. No throwback risky singles please.

I am excited for this too. I want something different, but more in the vain of Stripped. I agree with the No More Risks comment.

She can't take any more risks if she still wants a career. She's taken far too many and radio is well aware that they've given her too many chances at this point. She needs to bring it or this will be the flop that puts her in the has-been bin. So let's hope she takes a risk then!

Historically, Christina has came out with hot smash uptempos for a first single. (Genie in a Bottle, Dirrty, ANOM) So I'll guess it will have that sort of sound.

Genie is an uptempo?
And ANOM was not a hot smash.
Dirrty is cool, though.

The single is called 'Keep Getting Better' Title: Keep Getting Better Written by: Linda Perry Release date: Not completely sure. Nick S. from CMM says it's November 3rd for the UK, Pristine and the Sony BMG email say it's September 19th and a global release. So,the rundown to date on this is...
Quote: * SonyBMG Australia have scheduled a new single from Christina Aguilera next month (September).
* The single will be a global media release - meaning it will be released everywhere at the same time.
* It is NOT known if the new album is new material, or a Greatest Hits. A Greatest Hits album was scheduled, but that was earlier in the year - and SonyBMG Australia cannot say any other info other than this. From today, another meeting with SonyBMG Australia. It is time to get excited - September 19th with a global media release will be a new Christina Aguilera single.
They have just set a roster for it's release.
I have asked for a copy of this later today to post this proof - as I know that alot of people will bag this information and that is fine. This post is for those people who aren't going to b*tch at me over sharing information I know.
I will keep you all updated.

I hope this new material is awesome. I really do. B2B was boring but there were some great tracks.

I thought her work with Linda Perry on Stripped was great. They really made magic together with "Beautiful" and other songs. But I wasn't too impressed with her contributions to Disc 2 on "Back To Basics". This will be her third Linda Perry single in a row. Hopefully it's better than the previous two singles.

Hopefully the title isn't a double entendre for her career.... because that would just be wrong.

Well, in Linda's defense, she did what Christina wanted her to do. Christina had a "theme" and wanted to stick to that. lol

According to one of her dancers, she is supposed to be performing this very soon, and it's 'a surprise'...so Im assuming that to mean the VMA's, or possibly Fashion Rocks.
I just hope this is really hot. There isn't much anticipation for Christina right now, coming off the last era, so hopefully she will take radio by surprise and deliver something hot.
Im disappointed it's going to be a Greatest Hits album...I would have much rather had a new album right now, and then a GH after that, in a couple of years. Her label must be forcing her into releasing something new, so she settled for a GH.
I just hope the new songs on it are good, and big hits.
I just can't see her releasing a Greatest Hits in say, November...and then an all-new album as soon as the Spring of '09. If she has a couple of hits with the GH (new songs), I dont see her releasing the next lead single off a new album until at least next summer...but oh well.

Maybe she wants to leave RCA and was contracted for 4 albums, so she's releasing this to get off that label?? I don't know. But I can't believe it IS for a Greatest Hits. What a disappointment. Hopefully she has a new album out next year then.
