I actually get this doing well on AC. A lot of adult contemporary stations market themselves as being family friendly and appropriate for all ages to listen to. The moms that listen to AC no doubt have daughters that love Miley, and now she has a ballad that fits the format. Everybody in the minivan is happy!
On pop, it's totally the name.
This song is ok, but the chorus seems like it's going to build up to something more and it never does.

The bullet is now barely over 300. This is pulling a Deja Vu for sure.

Very strange. Her live rendition of this sounds much better than the recorded version. If she's capable of a better vocal performance, I don't understand why they used the studio version we got.

She sounded whiney on TV. Both live and studio version are the same quality.

She's definitely better live, but it was a bad performance. Her hair was all over her face, and it was just weird.

Songs don't get payola-ed into power rotation at Z100, Star 94 and 107-5 The River. It's bizarre to me as well, but this seems to be legitimately popular.

Which is disturbing because it's not an awful song, but it's kinda weak, also the hype of the movie died already.

This song is actually really popular, but I did not expect it to rebound like this. Something is definitely going on.

LOL! Why does everyone always think that because something random happens in the chart that there's always a "conspiracy"? Miley's never been a Pop staple, so a lot of stations were probably hesitant to add it or put it in higher rotation. Then add the fact that everyone had a bad week with that Clear Channel bullsh*t, and you see why it stalled for a bit there. I am sure a lot of stations realized that this had hit potential so they played it. I hate when people throw around the "payola" just because they don't understand why a song randomly took off. Payola isn't always the case and I doubt its ever really the case.
