14 9 MILEY CYRUS The Climb WDR/Hollywood 2009 5327 4722 605
This could go Top 5, mainly due to the lack of competition right now.

I suspected payola when this was initially taking off. But then I forgot all about this song several months ago. How in the world did this go Top 10? I'm praying that my pop stations don't start playing this anytime soon.

Yeah, I haven't been hearing this at all on the radio. Now that it's Top 10 I'm fearing for the worst.

I didn't even think about that. What a frightening prospect.
I really can't believe this is going to outpeak "See You Again." Not that the latter was a masterpiece, but mindless fun at least. Every time I hear this, I have to stop and ask myself why the producers didn't have her record a few more takes. The vocals are so incredibly bad - not even strictly in the sense that her voice is subpar, but her delivery and tone needed refining and she evidently received no guidance in that regard.

I wrote this song off as a horrible joke. When was the last time radio embraced a Disney teen-pop star in this way?! Not even Jonas Bros have scored a Top 10 pop hit and they're just as bad as her.

As dreadful as this song is and although its success seems baffling, there is such some logic to the insanity. It's a corny inspirational ballad with cliché lyrics that appeal to the lowest common denominator (sorry, just saying) by pop culture's current "it" girl. As Yami stated earlier, the cross-generational appeal is there in spades. Taking all of that into account, the inexcusable vocals are irrelevant. I'm not saying I like it, but I do get it.

Other than Miley, the last disney artist to get a Top 10 was Hilary Duff with Come Clean which peaked at #9, and that was 5 years ago.

Oh, I get it. It's payola. Ballads never reach the Top 10 anymore. This country ballad would not stand a chance if it was not for money. It's being played on too many rhythmic leaning stations in high rotation. It just doesn't seem realistic.

Rhythmic-leaning stations tend to skew young. I wouldn't be completely shocked if their younger audience would also like stuff like Miley, because she's young and all

Disturbingly enough, this is now #1 at AC I can't deal with this song anymore. Today I heard it four times in five hours while streaming the same radio station at work. What's more, Miley's filming The Last Song in the Savannah area for the next few months (more specifically, at Tybee Island, which is our beach) so I'm hearing endlessly about Miley, my friends being extras in the film, etc. We even had a debate about the origins of Miley's fame at the dinner table tonight.

I like this song. People need to stop hating and shunning everything because it's by a certain artist. It's not cute, whatsoever.

I can't stand this song. It doesn't deserve to make the Top 5 by any means. I didn't have a problem with "See You Again." But with the lack of ballads on the radio lately, this is the ballad radio chooses to become a hit? Disgusting.

Jill and Kate (I have no idea who they are) and Kelly Clarkson did an acoustic cover of this. They actually sound fantastic on it.
