I know. I've been listening to alot of old school jams and I'm hearing so many Puffy, Big Daddy Kane & Kayne songs. It's ridiculus. You will think people would wanna be a little more creative and Kayne he sure do brag alot for someone who's music has been successful off of heavy samples.

Hmm... I didn't even realize that Kanye's songs were straight rip-offs. Now I can go back to hating him. I guess I should know better than to expect anything exciting or original to come out of hip-hop these days.
Hip-hop artists use the term 'sample' waaay too generously. If you essentially cut and paste a backing track onto your record, then you aren't "sampling," you're just "copying." It makes me lose respect for a lot of artists.
You can just imagine how much it hurts when I hear songs like Leon Haywood's "I Want'a Do Something Freaky To You" (G-Thang) and realize that many hip-hop records really aren't as original as I had always thought. (I have less of a problem with Diddy & BDK, because they never really claim to be legendary talents like Kanye does.)
Wonder what hip-hop would sound like today if these folks had to actually come up with their own beats and hooks...

Is "Addiction" from a sample? Wait... probably a stupid question. What song does it sample?

Did you know Dre also sampled "Let Me Ride" from "Mothership Connection" by Parliment.
One of my favorite Parliment songs.

I Want'a Do Something Freaky To You is my JAM! ;D Yeah, mine too. But I didn't discover it until after G-Thang came out... Did you know Dre also sampled "Let Me Ride" from "Mothership Connection" by Parliment. One of my favorite Parliment songs. Yeah, this one I knew about... This was actually my favorite song off The Chronic.

Kanye thought this would revive his album. It flopped even harder than the previous single. Did you see how much it fell on both the Hot 100 and R&B 100 this week? Ouch.

Yea, I have NEVER really saw the appeal about this song. I always just found it very mediocre, and tried to force myself to see what was good about it, because it's Kanye, but its pretty dull. IMO this is the worst single from his album thus far, I even liked Heard Em Say better than this but that's not saying much.
Kanye sucks...for all the hype this guy gets, you'd think he'd have like 5 smash #1 singles and a 6 million copy selling album by now. His only hit from this album was Gold Digger, and even that was one of the most annoying songs ever after a while.
If I had to rank the singles off this album it would be:
1) Gold Digger 2) Diamonds
BIG GAP
3) Heard 'Em Say
Slightly smaller gap
4) Touch the Sky
You know what, Diamonds was hot, I may even like that equally if not more than I did Gold Digger. Gold Digger only because it was such a smash and you heard it everywhere for months, you couldn't help but get into it.
But everything else has been utter crap, Touch the Sky definitely included.
The video sucks, too. I hate that stupid interlude with Tracee Ellis Ross..."What about da AAAASS?" Its like, shut up...I feel like throwing a banana at my TV whenever her and her annoying voice says that. She ugly, too.

Yeah, it's wierd how his sales don't translate to single success.
I'd rank the singles like this: 01. Diamonds 02. Heard Em' Say 03. Touch The Sky 04. Gold Digger
In terms of being single worthy: 01. Gold Digger 02. Touch The Sky 03. Diamonds 04. Heard Em' Say

It sucks this bombed. It's so much better than 95% of the hip-hop crap that is played on the radio.

Kanye just doesn't fit into mainstream urban radio. His songs stick out like a sore thumb next to all the southern and crunk rap that's on blast these days. The fact that he has such a hideous personality probably doesn't help.
