At first I couldn't even listen to this because of how awful the lyrics were, but now that I've revisited it (and know that it's going to be on the album), it's a huge guilty pleasure. It's like listening to the better Kelly Clarkson songs. It's insanely catchy and I love the little MGMT-esque breakdown. virgula.uol.com.br/ver/video/2009/07/27/4502-weezer-toca-i%27m-your-daddy-na-coreiaThe Girl Got Hot (the other live song premiered), on the other hand, is still atrocious to me, and I really hope they wind up cutting it from the record...

Confirmed second single. Pretty much every review (even Pitchfork) cited it as a highlight.

This is getting a pretty big push from the label. The verses are a joke, but I love the hook and the bridge.

Kind of surprised no one is commenting on this. It's really taking off now...looks like a Top 10 for sure.
The hook is classic Weezer, the production and the bridge are classic Max Martin. The lyrics are typical Rivers post-Pinkerton.

This was one of my favorites from the beginning. The lyrics are absurd, but that's the kind of quirkiness I expect from Weezer.

It's catchy but it irks me for some reason.

28 and rising. I really like the "Guitars Up" mix they sent to Alternative...the mix is a lot rockier. Since it's only available on the promo for the more active leaning stations, and won't be sold digitally, here's the link: www.zshare.net/audio/72775351a95721bd/

^ Thanks for this! Good call. I like it more than the original. It sounds more like vintage Weezer to me.

This has been number one on my local alternative station's (KRBZ) Daily Dozen (Top 12) for at least a solid week.
