You may have heard of Theophilus London, because he's been releasing mixtapes for two years and apparently received a lot of attention on blogs last year. But I just learned about him on one of those best-of-2009 lists. I have not immediately liked a new artist this much in years. Anyway, this Brooklyn rapper spits thoughtful lyrics over synth-heavy tracks. I know you're thinking this whole electro thing is played out already, but he really puts a bit of a different spin on it. If I had to compare him to any existing artist, I'd say he's like Kid Cudi with cleaner production and a smoother rapping style. One of my favorites is "Humdrum Town," which you can download for free HEREHere's another great one: "TNT"

"Humdrum Town" is AMAZING. I've listened to it 10 times since yesterday now. It fights right in with the electro-rap sound that's becoming popular along with Cudi's stoner chill style. I'm not feeling "TNT" though.

"Humdrum Town" is AMAZING. I've listened to it 10 times since yesterday now. Haha! That's so funny. I actually thought you, in particular, would like this. ^ And yeah, "Cold Pillow" is awesome. Both songs are on his mixtape but I hate that you only get truncated versions of songs.
