This probably has a better chance than "Angels Cry". I can't understand why they're not sending this out first.

^ same here.
That's why I think that the AC remix is a real remix. They can't be that stupid to relaunch a "new project" with one verse fron Ne-Yo.

A couple people on the set confirmed that it's pretty much the same song with Ne-Yo. It could be slighty different, though, since none of them heard the original until fans tweeted them.

They're putting so much focus behind releasing her ballads. The ballads are what's killed the momentum with her last two albums, they need to put more emphasis on releasing hits than worrying about giving radio variety. IDJ has been too concerned with the "uptempo, ballad, uptempo, ballad" pattern. Releasing hit-worthy tracks should be the #1 priority, radio doesn't care if they get two uptempos in a row. "Up Out My Face" should have been released second.

The label must be thinking that the public will see "Angels Cry" as the first and only ballad follow-up to "Obsessed". lol After all, most folks in the general public are not even aware that IWTKWLI and "H.A.T.E.U." were even released as singles. The videos didn't receive much exposure and "Obsessed" is still in the Top 50 on the Pop chart. But UOMF is much stronger and should've been picked as the next single.

This is hot. This Nicki girl sounds like Lady Gaga.

This song was already hot but it's even better now. There's no reason this shouldn't be a #1 R&B hit -- especially with all the Nicki Minaj hype. This is probably my favorite single since "Fly Like A Bird."

A lot of big Urban stations (in New York, Chicago, LA) are already on the remix. I wonder if they'll switch the single or just send to Urban. Personally, I think they're both really crossover friendly, so I hope they just do one at a time.

Im guessing that since they rushed to film a video, they're planning to send this to urban soon.

They're sitting on a potential pop, rhythmic and urban hit with this. It's a good song, Nicki adds well to it. Just put this out and screw AC. It'll do nothing.

I don't know why in the world they'd send out three ballads in a row in the first place. But are we really surprised that IDJ would mess up the single choice yet again?

Oh, wow! What a nice surprise. The idiots at IDJ finally woke up from a coma! We're looking at her best single since "Obsessed".

Yay, finally a sensible single choice! I hope this can at least be a semi-hit at radio.

So happy they changed it. She NEEDED an uptempo next. I bet they'll send the album version to Pop in early February.

Also, the Washington Post wrote a small little piece on how they really liked this today...and it's being played A LOT on Power 105, as well as Chicago's biggest Urban station (can't remember the call letters).
Ryan Dombal, from Pitchfork, mentioned it in his "Young Money" mixtape review, and is going to do a full track review.
I'm so happy she's releasing this. Memoirs was a great album, but for the most part, pretty dark. Pop radio and the public in general right now (probably partly due to the economic crisis) are obviously more responsive to carefree Pop. This one finally fits the bill. I hope they go with "Ribbon" or "More Than Just Friends" next, even if they have a video for "Angels Cry" - they can release that one internationally.

Promo featuring radio edit, main version, and instrumental was sent to radio today. This will also be the Pop single.

I do not like this. This is one of her most annoying singles.
Ugh I hate how she fell off. She acheived so much in 2005 and now it seems it's all going to waste.

I would've thought you'd have liked it. Pretty much all non-stan response has been really positive. Did you like "Shake It Off"? This is definitely a one up, and in my opinion, Nicki made an alright track massive.
