Goes for adds January 5th.
I really didn't want this to be a single, but with the Ne-Yo treatment, some uplifting guitars, and a faster tempo, it could be big.
Edit: I interviewed Roman of the Jump Smokers, who answered some questions about their album (up on Mariah Daily). There will be no new vocals on the Jump Smokers album, but the main remix album will be full of them, and will also feature 4-6 new tracks. The Jump Smokers have completed "Candy Bling," "Ribbon," and "Up Out My Face." They're currently working on "Angels Cry ft. Ne-Yo."
Def Jam is looking at the "Up Out My Face" remix as the second single off of the new record.
Additionally, Roman said that the main remix (non-Jump Smokers) of "Angels Cry" with Ne-Yo features a verse from him, and sonically, sounds more similar to "Irreplaceable" and "With You."

I hope she has radio interviews, a video and good performances of this song lined up. It can be a hit but she is gonna have to get her hands dirty to do it.

If there are 4-6 new songs then why not release one of them as the next single? They must not be very good or strong if they're going with "Angels Cry" and "Up Out My Face" as the next singles.

Who knows? Maybe they were all left overs from Memoirs.

This is pretty boring. If this is better than any of the new songs, I can't see why anyone who isn't a lamb would even both picking up the record.

The whole idea of a remix album seems so 2001/02 to me. I can't imagine this attempt at resurrecting the era being successful. But as a fan I'm curious to hear the new/remixed material.

This song is worse than "Bye Bye".
Unless the remix is drastically different I don't see this doing anything.

I wouldn't go that far but this wore off on me pretty quickly. It's just OK to me now. Here's how I'd rank her ballad singles from the last two albums:
1) H.A.T.E.U. 2) I Stay In Love 3) Angels Cry 4) I Want To Know What Love Is 5) Bye Bye
Did Mariah re-record her vocals for the new "Angels Cry"?

And this is why she flops...she has gotten incredibly lazy with her remixes, videos and just in general has a lazy attitude at the moment with her music. At this point, I would say move onto UOMF; I am more interested in that song anyway.

Adding a verse from another artist isn't even a remix, really. Lame.

Three ballads in a row, three flops in a row.

Yep, another flop. UOMF would have somewhat of a shot, hopefully that goes for pop adds. This is almost DOA. Might get some test spins b/c of Neyo, but it's too generic to be a hit.

I refuse to believe that they are using the same beat. Why would they want relaunch this whole project with one verse from Ne-Yo? I mean, it's common sense.

Photos from the video shoot are on mariahdaily.com. It's a video of them recording the song in the studio. It looks similar to "One Sweet Day".

Update: "Angels Cry" Featuring Ne-Yo
"Angels Cry" featuring Ne-Yo, the first single off Mariah's new album Angels Advocate, will not be released today as we previously reported.
No firm release date has been determined. We're waiting to get a final date from the label and they should have it sorted out by end of the week.

Hopefully they've changed their minds and going to release "Up Out My Face" instead. lol

this leaked...same beat and vocals...SO LAME! It's boring and Ne-Yo adds nothing to the song. Their voices do not blend well together AT ALL.

I actually think this is the most single-friendly thing she's released this era.

Yeah I feel like it's immediately more accessible because Ne-Yo's name's on it.
