Another Haiti tribute, this one is an all-Canadian cover of K'naan's recent single. I actually reckon this is my favourite of the various tributes that have emerged over the last month.
Contributing artists include Justin Bieber, Jully Black, Pierre Bouvier from Simple Plan, Broken Social Scene, Tyler Connelly from Theory Of A Deadman, Fefe Dobson, Drake, Elisapie, Esthero, Nelly Furtado, Emily Haines from Metric, Jacob Hoggard from Hedley, Ima, Chin Injeti, K’NAAN, Pierre Lapointe, Avril Lavigne, Lights, Matt Mays, Justin Nozuka, Kardinal Offishall, Sam Roberts, Serena Ryder, Deryck Whibley from Sum 41, Hawksley Workman and Nikki Yanofsky.

This is pretty good, actually. Certainly the best from the charity singles.
Emily Haines is perfect.

The original has been overplayed since October. It is on the radio every 10 minutes...it's insane.
It's a pretty good song, the chorus is so catchy.
I thought "Wavin' Flag" was going to be the theme song for the 2010 FIFA World Cup (maybe it is...)

This is still #1 on iTunes in Canada.
And the K'naan version is (at least to my understanding) still supposed to be the theme song.

Yea...so the K'Naan version is the official World Cup Anthem... so we had the original overplayed to death from September - February, now this version from March - June, and the World Cup version all summer. Great... I can't believe no one at radio finds that ridiculous. It's a nice song and a great hook but c'mon now, Im SICK of it!!!
