Debut single from Flamingo.
Shockingly, it sounds exactly like something The Killers would record. It's a solid track, and the chorus is pretty catchy. Certainly nothing earth-shattering, though.

It's decent. I have no interest in a solo album from him. He is a TERRIBLE songwriter and vocally he is all over the place. His ambition and ego dragged The Killers down to sh*t IMO.

I like this song quite a bit. Just wish someone else was singing it.

Love this. He even manages to keep his voice under control for most of it.

Okay, I really didn't want to, but I'm loving this now. It's just a really nice song and yes I agree he didn't do anything vocally to screw it up, which is nice.

Why, oh why? I don't like this at all. It sounds like a boring Killers album track. It's not exciting at all.

When the f**k is he going to get over all this Christian and desert imagery? He's entirely too dramatic now. It's almost like Hot Fuss was written by a different artist.

Album cover: It's better than the song.

^^ I really like that cover. Looks like Vegas, but definitely too nice to be the Flamingo.

Ok... it took a while but I like this now. The "lay your body down, lay your body down, lay your body down" part is SO catchy.

I had a weird moment with this song. My friends mother was driving me to the airport a couple weeks back, the radio wasn't on and we had no more to say so it was silent. All of a sudden she starts singing "lay your body down" chorus. I couldn't suppress a laugh, and the fact that I was alone with her made it all the more awkward.

Did he ever release a second single? I've really been into Hot Fuss the past few weeks. *Goes to find a Record Review topic for "Jenny Was A Friend Of Mine"

"Only the Young" was the second single. It flopped everywhere but it's nice.
LOL @ that story Hallows!

I loved "Only The Young." Great song (and a gorgeous video, fyi), but there's just no format for that or really any other track on this album.
And for what it's worth I was really prepared to hate this album, but it's actually a really nice piece of work. It just doesn't fit in anywhere in the music landscape because it's kind basically Brandon Flowers does Fleetwood Mac.
