Jimmy Eat World - "My Best Theory"

Jimmy Eat World's new album, Invented, is due out September 28. The record was recorded on their home turf of Tempe, AZ with producer Mark Trombino. "We're very excited about Invented," said lead singer/guitarist Jim Adkins, "it was great reconnecting and creating an album with Mark Trombino, we can't wait for our fans to hear it." The first single, "My Best Theory," will arrive at radio in August.

Still haven't heard this. Very excited though.

I'm definitely looking forward to this. I'd love if they reverted to their slightly more aggressive, gritty sound, a la "A Praise Chorus" or "Bleed American." The Chase This Light singles were good, but didn't have quite the same magic as the preceding two records for me.

They need the happy medium. They went too gritty with "Pain" and it's one of my least favorite songs in their catalog. But some of their last album was straight up Pop music. I want them to return to adult emo-pop.

It's definitely harder than anything on their last album, but still has their laid back vibes too. It reminds me of Incubus.

I'll have to listen more before I see if this will be like or love.
