I wouldn't be surprised if this will be a future single. It has that generic dance beat. Her voice actually sounds really strong on this song from the clip.

She told Ryan Dombal (Pitchfork) t hat this would be the third single...I was really looking forward to it, but she sounds like a dead dog.

Sounds like a strong contender for a single!

This sounds like a Cher song.

Maybe the clip doesn't do it justice...I just hope she doesn't release Peacock. It makes everything Kesha sound classy.

The production is hot, but it doesn't sound like a hit to me at all. After the success of the last two singles, there's no way it won't go at least top 5, but it's one of those "quick to rise, quick to fall, quick to forget" songs.

Ewww. There's so many better choices. This sounds like that horrid Cher song "Strong Enough."

This article says that this is her third single. You think I'd lie? Ryan is a huge fan (also a big Mariah and Nicki fan - hilarious for a Pitchfork writer) and Katy let him listen to the CD and told him it'd be the next single.

I'm in love with the pre-chorus on this. Much better than I was expecting based on the clip, and probably is a good single choice.

Brilliant choice for a 3rd single. And WTF at Adam? Cher? Really? No.

This is a good song to release, this does sound similar to BEP's IGAF in structure, but with a voice on it, it sounds ace.

This is good, but I think she'd be best off releasing it internationally and releasing E.T. third here. I can't see it being nearly as big as CG or TD.

ET or Peacock should be singles, but this is a good choice too.

Katy Perry Says 'Firework' Is Teenage Dream's 'Anthem' 'This could be one of those things where it's like, 'Yeah, I want to put my fist up and feel proud,' ' she tells MTV News.
By Jocelyn Vena (@jocelyn1212)
Katy Perry is a bit of a human firework — sparkly, colorful and spontaneous — so it's fitting that she would include a song called "Firework" on her Teenage Dream album, which has already spawned hits like the title track and "California Gurls."
"Firework," like Perry, is spunky and funky with unexpected moments, like when the orchestra kicks in. The track is sure to resonate with Perry fans who love when the singer gets real about boys and love and their electrifying power. The song also means a lot to Perry.
"I wanted to go in with Stargate, and I finished off with a couple of songs, one song called 'Firework,' which is probably my favorite song off the record," she told MTV News. "Like something I'm most proud of."
As much as she loves the song, fans and critics who have heard the track also think it's pretty powerful. "People are coming back and almost adopting it as their own anthem, and it's hard, I think, to write an anthem that's not cheesy," she explained. "And I hope that this could be something in that category. I hope this could be one of those things where it's like, 'Yeah, I want to put my fist up and feel proud and feel strong.'
"But I also don't want to be cheesy," she reiterated. "It's a fine line, and I think 'Firework' is a real, I guess, it would be like the opus or my one song — if I had to pick a song to play — 'cause it has a great beat. But it also has a fantastic message."

Weak single choice. I hope they change it to "Last Friday Night".

Weak single choice. I hope they change it to "Last Friday Night". I completely disagree. "Last Friday Night" is pretty good, but doesn't have much lasting power.

I'm addicted to this now and support it as the third single. However, I don't think it'll be as big as the first two singles.
