It sure as hell isn't half as good as AIWFCIY, but it's still better than most of her recent singles. The gamble should pay off.

Did not expect anything this remotely catchy or poppy. Pleasant surprise!

I'm particularly shocked by Perez. I've noticed him being particularly supportive of her christmas album. I wonder what happened?

It doesn't sound Christmas-y at all to me.

I guess I'll have to listen again. I didn't expect it to be so...bouncy? I think t's just weird to hear her doing something so poppy. It's the first truly POP uptempo that she's put out since Heartbreaker...but it's even poppier than that. I'd probably go all the way back to the original Fantasy.

Well, I think it is smart that she made the song in this nature. The lyrics and the church bells help give it a Christmas flair while the rest gives it a very modern un-Christmaslike flair. I think this not sounding particularly Christmasy will help it tremendously when it comes to airplay and downloads. I think pop will eat this up. I also think that it not sounding overwhelmingly Christmasy will help it garner early airplay. I think she was smart enough to know that it had to sound modern to get any type of airplay or recognition. It is just a shame she couldn't come up with a song with this much punch to open up E=MC2 or MOAIA. Hopefully, she will have songs of this nature on a new studio album.

The more I hear this the more disappointed I am that she couldn't come up with something this fun and catchy and uptempo as a lead single for her studio albums. It just goes to show that she can jump right back into pop music anytime she wants. I love this song super fun!

^ Agreed. After hearing this, more than anything else it just makes me want her to go back to pop for her next record. IMO, her best tracks were always the poppier ones anyways.

I think pop music suits her personality. I think her personality shines when the music is bubbly and pop music does that so well for her. I don't think she needs to do a pure pop sound for the next album, but she does need to have common sense about what has worked for her in the past and what hasn't worked for her. She does need Rhythmic and Urban radio, but mixing it up at all 3 core formats could help her career.

I love this. It's so catchy and I think it does sound Xmassy and festive. Get it Mariah!

The pre-chorus is great! Love it ... ".. and his new girl was so bleak." lol. Wish the chorus was a little stronger, but I do like it overall. Don't think it's destined to become a classic, but it should get some airplay this Christmas.

This sh*t is too catchy. I want to dislike it so badly because it's borderline ridiculous, but it's so well crafted. I'm still in shock that it's not some boring ass midtempo/ballad with lazy vocals. I mean, it makes "Touch My Body" sound so lazy in comparison.
I've been killing for an uptempo Pop track from her for years, and it kind of sucks that it's a Christmas song, but it's so well done that it's hard to complain. The vocals are great because she's singing in full voice in a high register and actually retains her rich tone, the layers and layers of background vocals are even more impressive, the melody is irresistible, and even if the hook isn't that strong, it gets stuck in my head. I mean, the whole thing is like hook after hook: it reminds me of Outkast's "Hey Ya." The chorus may be minimal, but it's still catchy, and the verses and bridges are even catchier.

This of course has awkward modern Mariah elements, but I can almost taste the 1990's Columbia Mariah. I love it!

Idk no one listens to any Christmas music till at least November, if not by the time the actually holiday rolls around you'll want to shoot yourself. Just because it's Mariah I don't think anyone should expect a different trend.

Yeah, but you think lambs alone would be downloading it, especially since there's that big download contest for this week.
