From Avril's Facebook -
My first single off this record is called: "What The Hell". This song is the least personal song to me off this album. It's a fun and funny anthem. It has a broad message about personal freedom. It is the most pop track on the record.

I can't say I like the title, but I was the one person in the world that loved "Girlfriend" so I can't wait to hear it.

I hope it's the one Alex da Kid produced.

That Facebook message just sounds awkward.
In any case, I'm always up for new Avril! It's about time.

WTF? Why is she releasing her "least personal song" and labeling it that way? Is this some sort of reverse psychology??

It's probably a song with ridiculously stupid lyrics and she wants to separate herself from it.
I don't know why she would, "Girlfriend" is as brain-dead as they come.

There's a snippet out, it sounds like a Max Martin kind of smash.

I really like the clip and it's not exactly what I was expecting. I was expecting something like "Raise Your Glass," but it sounds more like a Ke$ha song.... if Ke$ha could sing.

I really liked the clip as well.

Sounds like Avril's version of "My Life Would Suck Without You".

There was an old episode of SNL on the other day and she was the performer. I never really liked her but her voice was amazing. It's a shame that people like Kesha and Katy Perry who can barely hold a tune are now the standard.

This might actually be a hit. Need to hear it in full.

I love the production (which was far and way my least favorite part of MLYSWY...it sounded like a bad remix). It's annoying as f**k, but the production is great. It's too bad she had to dumb down the lyrics so much.

This is so immature. It sounds like something from the Disney Channel.

More or less exactly what I was expecting. Sounds like "My Life Would Suck Without You" and "Hot n Cold" in a blender. Generic, but it works and it should be a hit.

Catchy as hell. But the verses and chorus almost sound like two different songs. The bridge is sick. I wish it went on for longer.

I like this song. The chorus is what really makes it for me.

This is damn solid, but it feels dated to me. The production feels like it should've been on The Best Damn Thing, and not something released in 2011.

This is standard Avril, carefully crafted to be a hit. I have a feeling this will be HUGE.

I agree this sounds dated, but pleasantly dated. It's refreshing to hear an upbeat catchy female pop-rock song with the overabundance of electropop at the moment.

Much better than I was expecting! This sounds like a hit but radio seems to have a new batch of Pop stars now with Pink as the token early 00's hold-on so we'll have to see.
