I'm expecting Elton John influence so for that reason I'm not too excited.

I'm expecting Elton John influence so for that reason I'm not too excited. Exactly. That style was cool back in the day, but not in 2011.

I dont think it'll be too Elton John influenced because she actually has a song with him coming out the week before. I dont think she'll release two songs with the same sound at the same time

I'm very excited. I'm just hoping for her sake it's not a ballad. No matter how good it may be, a ballad would be a bad choice for the first single.

^ I don't think she's that dumb. And my impression of what we've heard is that she's just doing an acoustic version, not that it's actually a ballad.

Lady Gaga's New Single Is 'So Beautiful,' RedOne Says Born This Way producer says, 'We get into the studio and suddenly magic happens.'
By Jocelyn Vena (@jocelyn1212) , with reporting by Matt Elias
On February 13, Lady Gaga will finally release the first single off her highly anticipated May release, Born This Way. Sure, Gaga has said she wants this to be the best album of the decade and that it will most likely "piss people off," but little is known about the album's vibe sonically.
Her producer, RedOne, wouldn't spill too many details about the single when MTV News caught up with him at the LA Times' The Envelope Roundtable - Music Producers, but he did let everyone know that the pair have once again made magic happen.
"I think it's too precious to talk about," RedOne explained. "It's so beautiful, and Gaga is very special to all of us — to the world."
Last fall, Gaga blew her fans away when she released "Bad Romance," a catchy, incredibly massive tune including her very own Gaga battle cry. The epic lead single off The Fame Monster has fans and haters wondering if she could ever top herself. RedOne said you don't have to worry about that.
"Honestly, the only thing we do is we get into the studio and suddenly magic happens," he said. "We never overthink, or we just do what we do. That's how it all started. With 'Just Dance,' we did it in one hour. There was no overthinking. Even though I remember when we did 'Poker Face,' people said musically it brought something new to the music and you won't be able to top it, we went into the studio and we did 'Bad Romance' on a bus.
"That explains how we do it, so I can't tell you anything about what's coming but that's what we do. We just get in and do music we love and feel it, and thank God it comes out good."

Apparently she'll be debuting a specially-remixed version of this tomorrow at some fashion show.
Something about that particular announcement reminds me of Kelly Clarkson's "Never Again." Which I would call a decidedly not good sign.

Oh I thought she was debuting a remix from some random album track tomorrow?

I'd much rather here a snippet of the real version over a remix version.

Here's the tweet: I initially read that as a remixed version of "Born This Way," but I guess it probably does mean a different song. My bad!

yeah, doesn't sound so good.
but then again i've never read the lyrics to an un-released pop song and been like "thats so good."
I feel like this song may be a statement/hype release, with another more "normal" single coming before the album

The message is nice, but it's so contrived, cliche, sappy, and over the top. I really hope those lyrics are fake.

Well, it's not like she's known for her profound song-writing ability.

Well, it's not like she's known for her profound song-writing ability. Agreed. The lyrics are terrible, but in her defense, I think most of her songs would look just as bad typed or written out.

People forget that she writes mainstream pop, so this would fit right in. She also warned us, as well as all the people that heard the song, that it's a universal anthem. I find it hard to be an anthem without outright lyrics and a clear as day message.

Bob Dylan, she's not. Christ, look at "Telephone." Not deep but at the same time it's kind of jarring to hear a song on the radio shouting out to "transgendered life" (ironically NOT born that way). I love Gaga but her ego is so big now that she thinks radio will play her no matter what.... but if this ends up a disaster she may follow the steps of Alanis after Jagged Little Pill or something.
