Willow Smith runs wild in the desert while shooting the music video for her follow-up single to “Whip My Hair,” which the pint-sized singer describes as a “dance record.” Over the weekend in Palmdale, Calif., the 10-year-old firecracker lit up the scene in a bright dandelion jacket and red skirt accented by a snaking yellow design, tied at the waist with a jewel-encrusted belt.
In a second look, she kept her hair in red-and-yellow braids while rocking a beige body suit, striking a pose alongside a parking meter as her proud mother Jada Pinkett Smith looked on.
“Hey people I am so excited for my next single!! Are you? It’s a dance record. I know you love to dance, don’t cha’……,” she wrote on her Facebook page.

Hard to judge based on 6 seconds, but it sounds like it could be pretty hot.

Sounds like Rihanna, and I think it's too Pop to follow up "Whip My Hair."

Willow Smith showed off her moves, feverishly dancing to her new single “21st Century Girl” on day two of the video shoot in downtown Los Angeles on Sunday (Jan. 23). The 10-year-old star was joined by actor Jackie Chan and her family, including father Will, mother Jada, and brother Jaden, on set of the clip, where she and her fashionable friends let loose in front of a car. The day before she filmed scenes in the desert of Palmdale, Calif.
“21st century girl, I do what I like/ 21st century girl, I’m taking you for a ride,” she sings on the uptempo record. Watch Willow work up a sweat!
"I'm taking you for a ride" ? WTF? She's 10....!!!

lol "I'm taking you for a ride" with the MUSIC! Dance!
And as for the follow-up to "Whip My Hair", she's making sure she's not put in that urban box, but I bet you'll hear more urban sounds on the album.

Willow Smith 'Living Life' On Rebellious '21st Century Girl' Tween star's second single premieres on 'On-Air With Ryan Seacrest.'
By Alex Chapman
After temporarily taking over the globe (and probably inducing some permanent neck problems) with her chart-smashing "Whip My Hair," pint-size prodigy Willow Smith is back in action with her new electro-pop banger "21st Century Girl."
The 10-year-old superstar premiered the track on Monday morning (February 28) on Ryan Seacrest's radio show, where it was announced that the song will be available exclusively on iTunes starting Tuesday.
The song is as current as they come — she sounds like a fusion of Ke$ha and Rihanna. Willow celebrates being a girl of the moment, all the while backed by a hyper-dancey beat. "The rules don't own me/ I'm living life on the edge," the singer coos.
Smith will also be performing the track, produced by Twin and Alke, on Tuesday's episode of "The Oprah Winfrey Show." All this news comes on the heels of Smith's newly announced addition to 13 U.K. dates on Justin Bieber's journey across the pond with his super-successful My World Tour.
The young talent may be relatively new to the music scene (and the world in general), but her work ethic is inarguably beyond her years.
"It felt like all the hard work paid off, mostly that," Willow told MTV News last October about the success of her first single. "Like all the hard work that I've done, like recording 'Whip My Hair' — it's paid off."
Willow has also recently hinted at an upcoming album, tweeting, "Are you excited for my album!? It's coming soon..... VERY soon!!" Although there's no official release date for the LP, a video for Smith's new single is said to be coming out shortly.

Willow Smith springs out of the desert sand in the video for “21st Century Girl,” the infectious second single off her upcoming Roc Nation debut. In the colorful clip, a gypsy played by actress Cicely Tyson raises the pint-sized popstress from the arid ground, soon joined by a gang of girlfriends who run with wolves and tug on chains to erect a city from the earth. To celebrate their urban creation, Willow and co. throw an impromptu dance party in the middle of the street.
“Willow’s colorful desert look was inspired by vintage Versace, borrowing shapes from Marie Antoinette with very current pops of color,” Brea Stinson, who styled the 10-year-old singer, tells Rap-Up.com. “The overall video was inspired by everything—the movie Blade Runner to Japanese street culture. 21st century girls aren’t afraid to take risks and live their dreams, and we did our best to showcase that in the wardrobe.”
Zoom into the 21st century by watching the bouncy visuals.

The marketing team behind her is doing a great job. She's getting the right songs, her videos are fantastic, and somehow everything still feels age appropriate.
