I'm intrigued. He may be a nobody, but he had some hot tracks on the last record.

Apparently this samples Robin S. "Show Me Love" ... that could be hot!

Jason Derulo burst onto the scene with his smash singles and now he aims to do it all over again. The “Whatcha Say” singer is readying the release of the first offering from his sophomore album.
“Don’t Wanna Go Home,” which he co-wrote with producers The Fliptones, samples Robin S.’s 1993 hit “Show Me Love” and “Day-O (The Banana Boat Song).” The electro-pop song, set to debut on May 9, serves as the lead single from Derulo’s second album, Future History, to be released on Beluga Heights/Warner Bros. Records later this summer.
“In the midst of all the turmoil in the world, I wanted to create a song that made you forget your problems,” explains Derulo. “So escape home, forget reality, and live it up!”
Listen to a snippet of “Don’t Wanna Go Home” and watch him craft the song in the studio in his Future History webisode series.

Err...not good. The Robin S sample is hot, but the "Day-O" thing is too much.

I',m surprised the reaction to this song isn't more positive. I'm beyond over this sound, but you can't deny that this is a smash.

This is a mess and a rip off of too many other songs.
This will be HUGE in the UK where they A) are still obsessed with "Show Me Love" and B) actually give a sh*t about Jason DeRulo as a celebrity.

There's so much going on in this song. Initially, I don't like it. But if it becomes a hit, I can see myself giving in.

This is horrible.
The samples are ridiculous. Day-O? Really?

This is pretty generic, something I would expect from Jay Sean, et al. The sample is really overused too.

Maybe I'm losing my mind, but I'm not hearing the Robyn sample.

It samples "Show Me Love" by Robin S. Not "Show Me Love" by Robyn.

and B) actually give a sh*t about Jason DeRulo as a celebrity. Um... who on earth gives a sh*t about Jason Derulo as a person? Ok maybe that was a bit of an overstatement but being Transatlantic, I can say that UK people definitely know his stuff as "that Jason Derulo song" while US people are more like "that Whatcha Say song."

271 48 JASON DERULO Don't Wanna Go Home 630 3 627 4.912 + 174 Spins + 173 Bullet + 1.292 AI SMASH!!!! Jason Derulo takes viewers behind the scenes of his video for “Don’t Wanna Go Home,” the lead single from his sophomore album Future History, due later this summer. The smooth operator shows off his fancy footwork inside an industrial warehouse, reclining on a couch with scantily-clad women as liquor bottles litter the floor.
“The inspiration behind ‘Don’t Wanna Go Home’ was simply all the pain, all the turmoil going on around the world, I wanted to write a song that was a pick-me-up,” Jason told MTV’s “The Seven.” “I wanted to make a song that would allow people to escape whatever they were going through.”
